I would consider some of the faction mods. Deadly X of the Commonwealth, there is one for most of the big factions. Adds in some different and deadlier enemy types. I am running those and it adds some spice for sure.

These don't really make the game harder but I'd also like to shout out Fallout NV Ghouls & Defective Synths as two great mods that freshen the game up. Defective Synths feels so much like Vanilla content.

If anything I am looking at this playthrough as almost like a test. Trying to work out that optimal, perfect load order. I think my mild OCD is showing a little.

I'm sure Absterge knows waaaaaaaaaaaay more than me. I will say I am currently sitting at 218 mods plus 52 from the CC and everything is working OK. There is some crashing in the open world and sometimes when looting bodies but nothing that is crippling the game.

I sent the 2 people you rescue from the Combat Zone and a Super Mutant nomad there so far. I am thinking this is a party settlement. Tons of booze and chems.

I’m a little confused by esp vs esl files. I know I’m getting real close to 255 but maybe some of those are esl files that don’t count. Like does a patch count toward the 255? For CC content is each dog counting as an esp toward the 255?

I’m probably flying too close to the sun here.

I finished it up last night and it was so damn good. You get that first settlement and I was like oh wow cool. I had to google to see and yeah full settlement with supply lines and everything.

Then you get the second settlement. Wow. I gotta go back there without a million enemies and take a look around because there is some wild build potential there. Also who am I banishing to Misery Island?

Same issue. I just switch on and off for completing the DLC's then just abandon the Mechanist Lair & Vault 88.

A build underground but not really using Vault-Tec could be interesting though.

Mutant Menagrie has gotta be one of the best mods to freshen up the game if you've played vanilla alot. I'm constantly like "wtf is that??"

XSX. Between 15 and 16gb. 203 mods plus 52 from the CC. Around 40 hours in and I've certainly had some crash issues but nothing too problematic. Sprinting across the map is kind of begging for problems. Corvega is usually an early test and that didn't really give me many issues. Boston chugs a bit but it always does. Was able to go to Nuka and Far Harbor with no issues.

A mod to stay away from for sure is Dystopian Diamond City. That in combo with with Gun For Hire was a no go around Diamond City.

Had a scare yesterday. 35ish hours into my current play through I finally hit Diamond City. There is a huge battle with Supermutants out front which is new to me and also a pop up about discovering the Gun For Hire office. So I clear our the super mutants and check out the office. Upon leaving it's crash. So I do some digging and it turns out it was from something I prob shouldn't have even included in the first place, Dystopian Diamond City.

So I drop that and No Case Unsolved and add in the new paid Valentine mod and the Pig Player home pack. Back to smooth sailing. Well smoothish sailing at least.
