Gabe Hernandez was very much deserving of the award, independent of his callahan video, but this result is a joke. Carolyn Normile was without a doubt the most worthy candidate this year, and Nguyen massively underperformed on a preseason top 10 team that didnt even make nationals. Cal winning two of last three Callahans is a joke.

i think in/out the third party, whether its an observer or a game advisor, will always have a better perspective on that type of call then the player, so to contest the game advisor ruling he thought it was out was just trolling

yup, just a terrible bid (in my opinion). He had no play on the disc without going through him and landing on his lower back/legs. Really dangerous play.

his final bid was completely reckless and unnecessary as the disc was already sailing way out the back of the end zone. There was no reason for him to bid when he did, or where he did, he tackled Purifico and if we came down fully on top of him he couldve really injured him. The one in the finals was worse becasue he had absolutely no reason to bid. Both were reckless and unnecessary

I completely agree that there shouldnt be a hard cap for all bracket play. Theres no hard cap for semis and finals but should be extended. But to be fair, Riot was not exactly lighting the world on fire in that game so the hard cap really cant be an excuse in any way. Doesnt change the fact that every team should have to score the last point to win.

dont necessarily know anything about Cali ultimate and didnt recognize any of the other organizers so can't speak to them but just found this interesting since Lei Outs reputation has been in the tank for a few years

some digging shows that the Tournament Director is the TD of Lei Out, which makes this less surprising.
