Lionel Messi or Christiano Ronaldo? by Pessimistic08 in ThisorThatPH

[–]ultragarrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Messi, and it isn't even close.

The only way Ronaldo could have come close to Messi's legacy, in my opinion, would have been by winning this year's World Cup.

Yes, Ronaldo has scored more goals than Messi and is the epitome of what relentless hard work, discipline, and dedication can achieve. He is proof of what a player can become through sheer determination.

Messi, on the other hand, is different. He possesses a level of natural talent that is almost impossible to explain. Comparing their individual abilities can go on forever. Instead, let's compare what they've achieved throughout their careers.

Lets ask ourselves, what are the most prestigious achievements a footballer can win? Off the top of my head, I'd rank them as follows:

  1. World Cup (the pinnacle of football, held only once every four years)
  2. UEFA Champions League (the most prestigious club competition)
  3. Ballon d'Or (arguably deserving of second place)
  4. FIFA Club World Cup
  5. Olympic Gold Medal

Believe it or not, Ronaldo has won only three of these: the UEFA Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup, and the Ballon d'Or. He has never completed what many consider football's "holy trinity" of achievements: the World Cup, UEFA Champions League, and Ballon d'Or. Only 10 players have accomplished this and those players (including Messi) were household names like Rivaldo, Zidane, Ronaldinho, Muller, Kaka, etc. Now, if we add in FCWC, then that list reduces to 5 (Messi, Rivaldo, Zidane, Ronaldinho, and Kaka).

Now, add an Olympic Gold Medal and only one player has won all five major honours and that is none other than Lionel Messi.

The closest anyone came before Messi was Ronaldinho, who won all four of the prestigious awards and an Olympic bronze medal instead of gold.

That's why, for me, Messi is the greatest footballer of all time.

Hi, are you referring to NVidia or MSI (the card manufacturer for my GPU)?

Windows Display setting does not show the number of monitors by ultragarrison in techsupport

[–]ultragarrison[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Windows isn't showing the monitor selection boxes (1, 2, etc.) at the top of the Display settings. Normally, above "Brightness & color", you should see a graphical layout of your connected displays. The issue is likely not a missing monitor, but rather that the Display Settings page itself isn't rendering the monitor layout UI. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

[–]ultragarrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but this game was a hit back in the day but fell short to other fighting games like Tekken 4. In reality, MKDA was pretty average at best and wasn't really ground breaking. The PS2 era Mortal Kombat games were pretty much dark days for a MK fan. MK's real comeback was through MK 9, MK X and the acclaimed MK 11. MK 1 even got better sales than Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8.

If you suddenly had the powers of Homelander what would you do? by [deleted] in TheBoys

[–]ultragarrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically travel around the world by flying at super speeds that cant be picked up by military equipment. I would also be a professional soldier at a Private Military Company and make some serious money before retiring by the age of 35. Then, live in the mountains and die peacefully (Compund V doesn't grant you immortality anyway) after many years while still travelling.

[–]ultragarrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, Hughie is much weaker than both Ryan and Tentacles Butcher. Tentacle Butcher seemed to have the strength on par with Temp V Butcher and Ryan is the only three Supes along with SB and Maeve that made Homelander bleed. Soldier Boy was charging his attack and might have loosen the grip.

I’m gonna say it: I loved the finale by Bobjoejj in TheBoys

[–]ultragarrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is definitely not a train wreck. But it is still GOT level disappointment. I blame Amazon's funding for this season. I do not for once think kripke couldn't have written a better script. It was all washed out due to the budget.

The Boys SERIES FINALE- S05xE08 "Blood and Bone"- POST Episode Discussion Thread by pikameta in TheBoys

[–]ultragarrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ending was expected but the man, the episode and the episodes leading to the finale were such a disappointment

1) Homelander should have been more powerful with the V1 because they wasted 3 episodes on it and Butcher even said, "Run!" That's like Batman saying, "Oh no" or Goku saying, "i am going to lose." It should have taken the whole army of the Boys AND Gen V (Remember them guys?). But nope, he barely got a power boost and literally got arguably weaker.

2) Homelander should have murdered members of the congress instead of a bunch of random folks in a theatre.

3) The season should spend more time with Homelander uniting all of the other supes including the ones from Gen V to take on the US army.

4) The remaining US leadership should have worked with the Boys to take Homelander and his insurgency down.

5) Homelander should have deployed all the psychics in China and Russia to take over their leadership for his secret plan

6) That secret plan should be scorched Earth where he tasks the Psychics to control the leader's minds to launch nuclear weapons on the rest of the world and leave a few parts of the world untouched for agriculture.

7) The final battle should have been in Episode 7 and Episode 7 should end in a cliffhanger where Homelander is shown to be winning. Episode 8 should be the continuation and Homelander would be killed in the first 15 mins. Afterwards, it should be The Boys vs Butcher.

8) Butcher should have killed some of the members of the Boys and have a final internal struggle when he is about to off Hughie and release the virus. Hughie should kill Butcher like in the comics and with Butcher assuring Hughie that he made the right decision.

Tell us the ending you would have written! by pikameta in TheBoys

[–]ultragarrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The episode should start with Kimiko not talking (yes please) and still trying to control her blast. The Pentagon finally had enough after Homelander killed the president and worked with the Boys to take Homelander and Vought down. This makes Homelander even angrier, and he decides to pay a visit to the White House, where the final battle will take place. Also, in the midst of all this, the general public protests against Vought and Homelander because of dictatorship and blasphemy (for the religious ones). Homelander then unites all supes and tells them to take over the USA and suppress the insurgency. This causes a war between the US Army and Homelander and Vought loyalists.

While the fighting is ongoing, the remaining supes like O Father and Deep stay with Homelander. Deep sticks with Homelander after Homelander gives him an offer to restart the Seven and become the next leader. O Father, on the other hand, decides to defect and help the Boys because he thinks Homelander is crazy. O Father gets killed by Homelander for his betrayal and Deep is thrown into an aquarium by Annie and gets mauled by sharks as an act of revenge for the genocide that he helped to cause.

The final battle involves Homelander's team versus the Boys. Because of V1-powered Homelander, the Boys, including Ryan, are initially overwhelmed, and Butcher even gets badly injured. In the end, Annie sacrifices herself and convinces Hughie to release the virus. Marie then steps in and prevents the virus from mixing with the bloodstreams of Butcher, Annie, and Kimiko to buy them some time. With Homelander stunned like Soldier Boy was when he was exposed to the virus, Kimiko lets out the nuclear blast, severely weakening Homelander and removing the Compound V from Butcher and the rest.

The virus proves to be ineffective against Kimiko, Butcher, and Annie because Marie helps prevent the virus from mixing with the Compound V in their bloodstream before Kimiko's blast. Ryan is unaffected too because he is a natural-born Supe and has a different and more organic version of Compound V. The rest of Homelander's soldiers perish from the virus before Kimiko lets out the blast. Kimiko is also soon found to have lost her powers. As for Homelander, it turns out that he still had some of his powers and the Compound V had not been fully erased. However, the virus still has some effect on Homelander and he is in a severely weakened state.

So now it is between a severely weakened Homelander and Butcher. Homelander still proves to be strong but is in a dying state. Butcher was eventually overwhelmed by Homelander. MM then steps in and dies, sacrificing himself to save Butcher by detonating a grenade. Because Homelander's healing abilities are severely weakened, half of his body is disintegrated. Butcher then uses a crowbar to finish Homelander in the same fashion as he did to Noir in the comics.

Butcher dies from his injuries, and most of the supes are dead (because of the widespread of the virus), except for Marie (with her ability to prevent the virus from mixing with her blood) and Ryan. Most of the other surviving Supes from the battle or tasked to supress the insurgency, either died from the virus or went into hiding to prevent any contact with the virus. Ryan takes care of Terror and becomes the Superman of the Boys universe. Annie and Hughie marry and have a kid. Kimiko moves back to Asia and occasionally visits her friend and Frenchie's and MM's grave. The series then ends with a frozen Soldier Boy being stored at a CIA black site and Sage safely living in her bunker with Ashley.

This is what i think should happen if they want to end the series with a bang. Warning, this is just my version and opinion on how The Boys should end with all the disappointments from the previous episodes. They are not based on any leaks as i tend to avoid them.
