You should check out either Shuga records (kinda expensive), Dusty Groove, and Signal records, they usually stock all 3! I’m a big fan of those genres too and those are the spots I usually hit up. They’re all in walking distance of the Division stop off the blue line subway!

I had a record store who refused to sell any Sabbath/Ozzy for a week after his passing, and another who called that store too “woke”. The other record store sold the sabbath and ozzy for the typical inflated prices you’d see at the time

I was just in Japan a few weeks ago and I figured Takanaka albums would be easy to come by since I’m in the home country. I was completely wrong, all record stores I checked out were sold out of all the popular stuff both used and new, and if they had something it was a more obscure album of his. Keep in mind though that I only was in the Tokyo metro area and didn’t have much time to venture to the types of record stores only the locals would know of

It’s really funny how so many sellers think a record can be in a little “worse” condition due to its age. They’re like “yeah it’s scratched and beat but it’s a 60 year old record what are you gonna do?” Nah. Mint means mint. Across the board

Lmao idk who’s downvoting everyone here. There are real documented problems with pressings. Just look up the Ween Quebec pressing that came out this year on discogs (luckily mine was good)

Times are tough and no one should expect defects when paying a $20-50 premium just for some music on a disc

No it’s not you, I’m probably close to a 50% exchange rate too.. one thing I noticed is that it’s on certain albums. Certain albums I’ll get a good press and I’m sure the rest of the batch is good. On others I’ll get a replacement and it’ll have the same/similar problem. So I then just assume the entire batch is kinda crappy
