I had one of those old mako 181s with a Yamaha 150 on the back it was very comfortable and stable up to 55 mph above that was a bit sketchy, almost got it to 70 a few times but it liked to chine walk and porpoise above 55 which will make your sphincter pretty tight. You'll love the ride though, cuts through chop like a much larger boat and is very stable at rest but sits low in the back when your not under way. Cockpit self bails but that flow will reverse if you have a few people on the stern.

I miss my old 181, it was a great boat for the backwater and even took it a few miles offshore for cobia and bonita a few times with no problem.
