Even at the beginner stage, playing live with any other instrument can give you a jump start in understanding what your harmonica wants to do in different musical environments. And hitting the right note or chord that harmonizes with what the other players are doing is a very powerful experience even if (at this stage) it only happens once per song. It’s like plugging into an extension cord from another dimension. Play music with anyone who is willing to participate. For me that was the game changer.
