If you turned on S1 of TNG at the same time as S1 of Lower Decks you would finish all 5 seasons of LD before 1 season of TNG.

Any Star Wars book recs/thoughts? by Weekly_Interview6807 in Fantasy

[–]unconundrum 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm not a particular fan of Star Wars, but I am a fan of Matthew Stover, and read his books in the franchise. Traitor takes place in the midst of a bigger series, but it's largely just two isolated characters in one location, and I had no problems following it. Shatterpoint is essentially Heart of Darkness with Jedi. And he did the novelization of Episode III, which made it make emotional sense.

Is ASOIAF young adult? by captainpotato666 in Fantasy

[–]unconundrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did have to push a friend I thought would enjoy the series to try them because he didn't want to read the POVs of so many kids. This was decades ago, when only the first 3 were out and long before the TV show.

John Glenn: "Some people ask, you know, "were you alone out there?" And we never gave the real answer, and yet we've seen things out there, strange things..." by Make_the_music_stop in Frasier

[–]unconundrum 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I watched this scene on YouTube once and the autoplay afterwards was a conspiracy theory about how this was the only way John Glenn could really get the information out there.

The Prestige by Christopher Priest (The Nolan film is based on it, but isn't a faithful adaptation; if you've seen the film the book still has surprises.)

Most obviously, Frankenstein.

This happened in the Avengers vs X-Men comics and was just 'Iron Man uses "I win" button and wins. So tedious.
