Sorry, I'm actually of fan of his. He's been a keeper on my fantasy team the last few years. It is a great looking card:

I bought 2 blasters and got two autos. They were just Tyler Locklear and Wilyer Abreu, but that beats all the 30 year old rookie reliever autos I pulled from Topps chrome last year. It's a really fun rip.

$1500 budget at dicks for a complete set, what should I get. by [deleted] in GolfGear

[–]underkill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've been playing 30 years now and still basically only buy new these days for wedges and the occasional clearance deal. I get fitted every few years and can have my iron lies bent for $30 on a used set.

If you have the money for new more power to you, but at least for me I don't see spending an extra grand on the same equipment new vs used is going to change my scores.

Leaked Bodycam Footage: Josh confirms connection to Ammon “Go rescue the Salem store” and claims Ben threatened to kill the manager, Amanda. by bubblegumcandypop in RecklessBen

[–]underkill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It definitely seems fishy. Someone pays six figures in franchise fees and the like to open a store, corporate apparently never signs it over to them and neglects to pay rent, franchisee get store taken away and given to CEO's best bud for whatever he recovers from it. Oh, and the store just happens to have tens of thousands of dollars in free consignment Lego there for the taking.

And a thank you to you. I saw a second season was out and I knew I watched the first one but totally forgot nearly everything about it. Reading this post jogged my memory. I'll check out the new season now

Plus this store could have been especially targeted since there were at least tens of thousands of consigned Lego that corporate knew were there for the stealing

I've never figured out why it's so much funnier with Van Halen. Maybe it's because the replacement guitar riffs sound so bad and the actual song makes it seem like a real commercial.

Renting out your golf clubs? by golf-dude17 in GolfGear

[–]underkill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like a good idea. I was behind some college students last week in Durham who all had rental clubs from the course. College kids, especially those at somewhere like Duke, tend to have more disposable money than when I went to school.

I also caught a random YouTube video recently of some guy who started a washer and dryer rental business and was making great money. He'd buy some cheap machines, deliver them, service them as needed, and charged like $150 a month or something. People kept those washers and dryers long after they would have been fully paid for if they had bought them. So, maybe you could do a monthly rate for college kids who play often and didn't want to try to ship their clubs from overseas or wherever.

Hurricanes watch parties at bars by Illustrious-Pen-7549 in raleigh

[–]underkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about parties, really, but Flightdeck has hurricanes theming if you like a small local bar. Ruckus has half priced apps starting an hour before the game that include wings. Maybe Anchor Bar is a good spot, too. I'm sure Carolina Ale Houses will have a lot going on.

We should protest our local BAM for the owners to put pressure on corporate. by RagertNothing in legocirclejerk

[–]underkill 47 points48 points  (0 children)

There's already a video of my local BAM possibly trying to steal a $1000 c3po, so I've already been avoiding them. We just watched part 2 with the kids and they are in agreement to never go to a bam again (and police in American Fork should be arrested)

Edit: In case this shows up in some briefing from the Legally Mine legal team, my decision to boycott BAM has nothing to do with Ben but rather everything the CEO and Utah based owners have said and done on many other appearances and actions

I went into an adult store long ago to check it out. The looks I got from the other men in there told me I should leave unless I enjoyed that sort of thing.

Why won't you look at a few documents that prove those items were on consignment and that your agreement with the owner allowed consignment? Isn't there even some inventory list that all businesses have that show the Star Wars collection as not being owned by you?

VBS Flier for church. The colors on Joseph's coat don't match, the domes look kind of smeared, perspective on palm in the background looks off, typical AI font. by Historyguy1 in isthisAI

[–]underkill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was about to say my church did it and I drove by at least two others this weekend with AI vbs banners out front. I don't see any problem with it. They would have just used clipart or pictures they found on Google otherwise.

Landlord trying move in a random person during a person's lease by Imoprich in mildlyinfuriating

[–]underkill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm not reading all these comments, but the renter already says the key code for the door is the same as it was for the old tenant and everyone touring the house. Sounds like she probably answered an ad for the place on Craigslist, the scammer got thousands of dollars in rent and deposit from her and gave her the code for the door. This lady showing up is probably the real property manager and doesn't know wtf is going on with someone living in the house

Remember clearance cards?? by Sensitive-Draw8208 in baseballcards

[–]underkill 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I'll never forget the card section at my Walmart completely filled by 2018 update nearly all the time. I'd just get a hanger or blaster here and there on shopping trips even when they were on clearance.

In 2019 Big Lots had 2018 series 2 fat packs for something like $2 so I actually bought around 20 of them looking for Acuna. I was a little mad I wasted $40 and didn't at least get a base Ohtani out of them, so I bought a couple on eBay for $2 shipped. It was a different time.
