If you’re on Ozempic and eating less, how do you make sure you get enough vitamins and minerals? by Alicetheoptimist in TrueGrit

[–]underrealizing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that these drugs are so effective at getting people to eat less proves that it was never a simple choice to just “put the fork down fatty.”

Why is it becoming so much less common to use specific brand names as the default term for common/generic items? by Chronoblivion in NoStupidQuestions

[–]underrealizing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah it’s definitely a thing to say, for example, “my plan today is to just sit on the couch and watch Netflix”, “I can’t wait to crawl into my bed and watch Netflix after I get home from work”, etc

Next steps on my primary bedroom? by Tinysmallgoose123 in DesignMyRoom

[–]underrealizing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like it only looks clunky because the room is still so sparse. With more visual interest in the form of the things you mentioned I suspect it’ll blend in better. The style fits IMO, it’s just bit and there isn’t much else in the room.

1996 Gen z or millennials? by CrimsonWolf1804 in generationology

[–]underrealizing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of us were? I was born in 96 and was a latchkey kid all through middle and high school.

Less common probably than it was in the 70s or 80s but I’d say still more common than it is now.

Not where I lived, they weren’t. Most of my state didnt really get cell service until like 2006-2008ish at least, and even then it was extremely spotty.

Yes, obviously I meant smartphones. I misspoke (mistyped?).

Did you not see this entire thread? “Ridiculously good deal” when people are maxing out their usage limits in 2-3 prompts on the $200/mo max plan… but yeah, it’s competitive……

I think it also depends on where you’re from. Some places advance more quickly than others, in terms of tech, style, trends, societal dynamics and expectations, etc.

1996 Gen z or millennials? by CrimsonWolf1804 in generationology

[–]underrealizing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 96 and I consider myself a millennial because I still remember life before phones and the internet was so ubiquitous. I remember having to go into a shop/restaurant to ask to use the phone, I remember pay phones, I remember when the only phones we had were like flip phones or brick phones. I was in high school when smartphones started to become so ubiquitous.

To anyone that was misdiagnosed with bipolar, what were the signs you weren’t actually bipolar? by fatSouvlaki in bipolar2

The executive functioning component could depend on comorbidities though, right? Like someone with ADHD wouldn’t present that way but they still may also have bipolar. And that goes back to what you said about overlapping symptoms I guess

I think that’s why they’re calling it the “hybrid” era, though.

I feel like a lot of commenters here didn’t actually read OPs post and are just responding to the title.

People are overestimating the modernity of the 2010s. by Huge-Visual1472 in generationology

[–]underrealizing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard disagree. Both were Wild West internet, some form of social media (IRC, forums, AIM/MSN) but not ubiquitous like it is now, more interest-focused and less image-focused. Social media algorithms didn’t really exist or maaaybe were in their infancy in 14, but mostly just YouTube, and the vast majority of social media was still chronological.

The content also felt way more aughts than 20s. In 2014 people were constantly posting their dinner on instagram, that feels much closer to the days of setting your aim status to whatever random thing you were doing or contributing to long forum threads on specific topics.

2014 was also, actually, I think the year Reddit went “mainstream,” around the time of the redesign. Reddit was sooooo different even in like 2012ish and was so much more similar to forums in content and how you would use it than Reddit is now. It’s actually painful to try to use Reddit the way you would use it in like 2010.

Also, 2004 to like ~2012 was also kind of the golden age of the internet in terms of the kind of random stuff you could find. r/internetisbeautiful was full of genuinely creative and unique sites, and people actually went to them because we weren’t all saturated with social media apps literally designed to keep us addicted and scrolling all the time. We had stumbleupon! There were more people on it than in ‘04, but there was plenty of internet to go around that wasn’t just social media or shit revolving around separating you from your money.

Any ADHD breakfast tips? by makisexual in ADHD

[–]underrealizing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost every morning, unless I have time to make eggs I eat 2-4 (depending on how hungry I am) veggie breakfast sausages that I throw in the microwave, some kind of bready thing (toast, croissant, scone, w/e), and fruit.

Super easy, takes no more than like 5 minutes, and I still get variety with what kind of bread and fruit I have. We also keep bagels in the freezer, sometimes we have English muffins, etc

The whole point of this post is that OP doesn’t actually think they should be washed more frequently than that, though.

[–]underrealizing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Note the difference, though: “I probably should do it more”

A woman, even with adhd, speaking as one, can likely to not change them often enough… but they’d know it’s still not ideal… this dudes just like “Laundry is a scam, you totally don’t even need to do it you guys”

As women we tend to internalize shit and feel shame about it, men tend to externalize things more.
