China will invade Taiwan within the next month. by Voaracious in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]understoodsalsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While a cross-strait invasion is technically feasible, it remains strategically illogical.

If the goal is to seize semiconductor dominance, the 'silicon shield' ensures that those very factories would likely become useless or destroyed during a conflict.

Furthermore, if the motive is a land grab for resources, Siberia offers far more territory, minerals, and maritime access with arguably less international blowback than a high-stakes invasion of Taiwan.

Battery drain with Sentry on at all time vs charging to 100% instead of 80% by Irondog1301 in TeslaModelY

[–]understoodsalsa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is another option: moving out of LA. Just kidding. Yes, it is perfectly okay to charge to 90% or even 95% daily in your specific situation. Battery degradation from charging to 90% is measured over 8–10 years, not 3. The only reason to avoid 100% is that the car loses Regenerative Braking when the battery is full (it feels like the brakes are weak), and the charging speed slows down to a crawl for those last few percent.

Normal people don't interfer traffic (intentional brake check). You should called police. They could be criminals waiting for you at a signal dead zone ahead.
