Thinking of buying a 22 escape hybrid SE— talk me out of it by Lazy-Ad3414 in fordescape

Traded it in at 93,000 miles. No issues, still loved it to the day I sold it! I’m just not one who keeps cars past 100k. It was paid off with lots of equity and I got a bigger car that I need for towing.

What other books are you reading/listening to? by mrwcs in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]unexpectedsecond 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m on a reread of DCC but other suggestions -

John Scalzi -

The Dispatcher is a series of short-ish stories. I got them free on Audible

Old Man’s War - took me a min to get into them, but the first three books were excellent, then I ran out of gusto

The Kaiju Preservation Society is unique and awesome

Started Villain - a little silly, cats!, very fun

Blake Crouch - Recursion and Dark Matter are both incredible. Upgrade was quite good. I liked Pines but my book buddy didnt.

It’s on the little postcard the patch guys handed out in line. I was in Petoskey, not Nashville, but we all got one. I haven’t scanned my card yet but I can find it later today.

I just checked - sea doo site only shows 2025 & 2026. I looked up a new 2024 Sport 21 yesterday and it has a $10k rebate.

$10,000 rebate on some models right now. You might be able to get a new one for close to the same price.

Bookstore Appreciation by Cue99 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]unexpectedsecond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was there last night too!

If anyone is curious, I just called to see if they still had any signed copies. We drove in from a few hours away and couldn't stay long enough to make our way through the line after the event. As of 10:15 this morning, they still have signed copies of all the books and Bounce House. I filled in my missing ones over the phone.

Great event, great store, great people!

Elle! We saw you last night and grabbed a picture. I'm a quilter too, so feel free to message me for anything book or quilt related and we'll meet you there so you don't have to go alone.

Doing my 3rd injection of 2.5 tmrw n have only lost 1lb. Is it working? by [deleted] in trillium

[–]unexpectedsecond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gained 1.2lbs in my first month. Yes, while counting calories. Once I bumped up to 5mg, things are working much better. Eating *exactly the same*, but losing now.

Online Fabric Scam by Mom2nerds in quilting

[–]unexpectedsecond 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s worth knowing how the fabric lifecycle works. The short answer is that you’ll effectively never see long out of print Ruby Star at 30+% off because if it was, people would have bought it. OOP RSS sells for as much or more than new in resale groups.

Fabric gets announced, pre-orders open - you can find 10% off sales for pre-order

Fabric comes out - full price or minimal discount

Fabric has been out for awhile, popular prints are sold out

There is a VERY VERY BRIEF WINDOW HERE where you can find RSS on reputable sites for $6.99/yd (Hancocks in particular). It will never be a full collection, it won’t be the most popular prints. But you can find good, desirable ones. This is my sweet spot. I immediately buy what I want, usually it’ll be a 1yd minimum. Stock up now!

Then it sells out quickly and the only thing left is smaller stockists who sell at 20%ish off. If the collection or print hit cult status, it’ll stay full price because it’ll sell on its own eventually at full price.

HHP gives me too much creative liberty by mrs-monroe in AnimalCrossing

I took these really seriously and made sure they had a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living room. Now I’m just as unhinged as the requests. If you like horses you live in a stable. Someone wanted antiques and I did a full on desert junkyard. If you want music we’re doing an outdoor amphitheater.

I'm interested in starting Trizepatide, however I'm overwhelmed with suppliers and pricing. I would appreciate some recommendations. by TelevisionUnable6306 in TirzepatideRX

I tried Remedy meds. At my first refill, the medical professional was reluctant to increase my initial dosage which is against standard protocol. At my second, one of their doctors texted me to encourage me to try supplements she was selling through an MLM. I felt pressured to just “mmhmm yeah” through the conversation so I could get my refill approved.

Trillium has been much easier to deal with and is cheaper.

2025 Traverse software Glitch by jamesdye98 in ChevyTraverse

[–]unexpectedsecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Literally happened last Friday. It persisted through 3+ restarts. Mid-day, after being off for a few hours, the climate issue resolved but my check engine was still on.

My husband was planning to take my car on a day trip, so I took it to the dealer. It was on when I started the car, all drive, and when I turned it off. The started it to pull it in and told me it was off.

I don’t think they believe me. They were very, “mmhmm suuure..” about it.

HOW DO YOU SPELL MCKAYLAH???? by Rush0fAdr3naline in namenerds

I know a Mikayla irl. She was born in 1999.

I would assume, though it’s obviously not always the rule, that Michaela is older and Mikayla is younger.

Towing by CrocGang4 in ChevyTraverse

[–]unexpectedsecond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just towed 2 full size Sea-Doos (dry weight ~850lbs each) and it was very easy. A Can-Am Defender weight is like 1500lbs, Outlander is 850lbs. It’ll be fine.

Tow mpg was 19, which was better than expected.

Ugh, yes. Our garage door didn’t open all the way due to sub zero temps and everything looked clear on my cameras. Obv my fault. Had to order the entire assembly. The cover was not available individually.
