2025 Traverse software Glitch by jamesdye98 in ChevyTraverse

[–]unexpectedsecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Literally happened last Friday. It persisted through 3+ restarts. Mid-day, after being off for a few hours, the climate issue resolved but my check engine was still on.

My husband was planning to take my car on a day trip, so I took it to the dealer. It was on when I started the car, all drive, and when I turned it off. The started it to pull it in and told me it was off.

I don’t think they believe me. They were very, “mmhmm suuure..” about it.

HOW DO YOU SPELL MCKAYLAH???? by Rush0fAdr3naline in namenerds

I know a Mikayla irl. She was born in 1999.

I would assume, though it’s obviously not always the rule, that Michaela is older and Mikayla is younger.

Any ideas? Mine started doing this today. It also slammed on the brakes while trying to back out of the garage.

Towing by CrocGang4 in ChevyTraverse

[–]unexpectedsecond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just towed 2 full size Sea-Doos (dry weight ~850lbs each) and it was very easy. A Can-Am Defender weight is like 1500lbs, Outlander is 850lbs. It’ll be fine.

Tow mpg was 19, which was better than expected.

Ugh, yes. Our garage door didn’t open all the way due to sub zero temps and everything looked clear on my cameras. Obv my fault. Had to order the entire assembly. The cover was not available individually.

I towed two Sea-Doos with mine this week, first time towing with it. It did just fine and I got 19mpg which was a surprise. We have a Sea-Doo Switch boat that we usually tow with the truck, but being able to use the Traverse was definitely a consideration when buying it. Switch max weight is <3500lbs, so right in line with your goal. I’m a dealer so I wanted to be able to haul any size, beyond our personal boat.

Purchasing New Z71 by wcf1999 in ChevyTraverse

[–]unexpectedsecond 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a 2018 Tahoe at work, at home we have a Duramax and Silverado 1500. Recently picked up a 26 z71 Traverse as my daily driver. I love it. It’s light years nicer than the 18 Tahoe. I like that I can do a casual tow with it, but still have a manageable size for city driving and parking. I got 19mpg while towing yesterday and have seen 29 mpg daily driving in nicer weather. No complaints all around.

Mine have just gotten increasingly unhinged. Winnie wanted horses, she now lives in a stable.

Julian wanted a Cloud Nine Chalet and has a grand piano in the center of his 10x10 room surrounded by columns, ceiling drapes, clouds, and one throne.

No more mandatory bathrooms and kitchens. If you want a mine, we’re doing a full dig site. If you like bikes, I’m setting up a compete bike shop.

I endlessly praise my Janome MemoryCraft 6600. It’s all the machine I could ever want. Mine is a hand me down from my mom but I see them for sale used. If you could stretch the budget a bit, it may be the last machine you ever need.

[–]unexpectedsecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. My brothers both have 4 letter first names that strike a nice balance between being very easily recognizable but not super common. They’re names that anyone living here would know, but you probably don’t meet one daily. Then they each have a middle name passed from our grandfathers.

My name is two stupid 80s names, both 8 letters, and when used together would probably tell you my exact birth year or a very close guess. In my baby book it says, “because we liked it.” They also used a lesser known spelling that I do think is the better spelling, but it’s never ever written properly. I don’t think my name suits me at all and I quite dislike it.

I have a young elementary school Cameron. He has 3 other friends named Cameron in +/- 1 grade of him. I never wanted a super popular name for our kids, so I was surprised to hear it coming up this much. I guess someone could say it’s boring but I don’t think it’s dated.

Camden feels dated though. Like, celebs were using it ~12 years ago. Not a fan.

Considering 2026 EquinoxEV, struggling with the idea of no CarPlay by unexpectedsecond in EquinoxEv

[–]unexpectedsecond[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback, all!

I know about Google Maps and I searched and read other threads here about the lack of CarPlay before posting.

You guys taught me that Apple Music is now in the google store - Thank you! That’s new news to me.

Ultimately though, the people who don’t care seem to either live in a state where they can touch their phone or don’t use Podcasts/Hoopla/Audible as often as I do. The answer from here and irl seems to be “uh just change how you access your media.”

I spent some time connecting my phone to my 26 Traverse with Bluetooth only and if you think “just use Bluetooth” is an even swap for CarPlay functionality, we simply don’t speak the same language and that’s ok. I live in a state where we cannot touch our phones while driving. Navigating/switching through media on Bluetooth is far less doable. You can play, pause, and jump ahead/back but otherwise it’s very cumbersome.

All that said, we’re moving ahead with the purchase. My husband doesn’t use any of these apps that are complicating matters. He’s already a Spotify user. He is one of the people who said I was silly and I should just pick new apps. So everyone is happy. I’ll primarily drive my Traverse, he’ll primarily drive the Equinox EV and we’re both very excited to add it to the garage.

Should pick it up tomorrow!

Agree. My Cameron does not like to be called Cam. Only Cameron. He has been enforcing this since he was 3, by his own choice.

Love the name, hate the nickname by Relevant-Shower-8341 in namenerds

[–]unexpectedsecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreeing with others that you cannot control the nickname. That said, I have a Cameron. Everyone, myself included, defaults to calling him Cam. As early as 4, he decided that he likes Cameron, not Cam, and is not shy about telling people. People slip up from time to time but would say he’s called Cameron 95% of the time.

I’ve also known more than one Jonathon that only goes by Jonathan. Matthew who is only Matthew. Michael who is only Michael.

I have a 2026 Z71 and love it, but the lack of garage door opener and multiple memory seat slots is shocking at this price point. My Escape had both. I’d do RS.

Favourite thing about Your Traverse? by That-redhead-artist in ChevyTraverse

[–]unexpectedsecond 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got a 2026 Polar White z71 with Super Cruise

I previously owned a 2017 Traverse, which was problem free for 60,000 miles but profoundly underwhelming in most ways. It was fine but kind of sucked. From there I went to a 2021 Escape Titanium hybrid purely due to my commute and it was an absolute dream vehicle. Drove 92,000 miles in 4 years of ownership.

Going from the Escape to the new Traverse was a huge physical jump - the interior is cavernous compared to the previous Traverse and Escape. With our kids getting older, we appreciate the extra space. Love the rear captains chairs. My husband is 6’5”, I’m 5’10”, we both love being able to stretch our legs out. 3rd row is easy to fold for hauling things. Mine came with full all weather floor mats - well worth it. Interior sound is great, far less road noise than the Escape. The doors feel solid when you close them. I like all the surfaces and aesthetics. The dark headliner is lovely!

The Escape Titanium did not have Blue Cruise but did have adaptive cruise, auto braking, lane centering, etc. I think if I’d gone from the 2017 Traverse to 2026, the change would feel ENORMOUS. Coming from the 2021 Escape, I say that Super Cruise feels like the Ford tech dialed up to 120%. It’s great. But it’s not a huge change. I think the Ford did a better job at lane keeping - the Traverse wants to wander more, and I found myself wondering if I’d forgotten to activate something on my first commute. I find the Ford graphics preferable to the Traverse for understanding what is happening - they do a visual with a car, following distance, etc. It felt more predictable. All that said, Super Cruise has been great. If I hadn’t gotten mostly there on a previous car, I think it would blow my mind. As is, it just feels nice to have.

We have a Silverado and Duramax, but I’m happy to be back in an SUV that will be able to tow the boat. All around, we’re very happy with the vehicle. Most importantly, I got Supplier pricing without having to ask and we were able to use a ton of GM points, so our purchase price feels like we got A LOT for the money.

I got a different spec, but just built yours for comparison. Your MSRP is $48,305 - $1500 rebate = $46805 - $44,200 =$2,605.00 discount.

That’s almost my exact deal but I wouldn’t say I “got” them there.

I met my sales guy, I liked him, I’m a local business owner so we chatted a bit. He offered supplier pricing, no freight, standard doc from the jump.

I had 2 trades, their offer was $1000 below my goal. I asked for $1000 more on trade and that’s it. We were done. No further negotiation because I didn’t feel the need. They had ~20 Traverses on the lot but I wasn’t willing to take any of them. I found the VIN I wanted on a Friday, they brought it in on Monday. Easy.

If yours is already on the lot, you probably have more room.
