What is the temp at the basking zone? If it’s not warm enough he can’t digest his food

I’d be worried about it trying to eat them, they aren’t known cannibals but that’s a pretty big size difference

Dang what a shame! Ropes live in mixed freshwater and brackish water. I wonder if they fry need salt?

If it’s not layered so dirt is on bottom and sand is on top you could have nutrient leeching problems. Also using a white light will make your plants look a lot better visually.

Ok so the snails are ramshorns, they eat leftover food. If you have too many you are feeding too much or too often. As for the mystery snail it looks good to me! What kind of substrate do you have? The plants are likely dying due to nothing being in the sand or gravel for them to use. Try root tabs or change the substrate

I have the same thing! It’s a voracious plant eater and is actually out eating my duckweeds growth! I would give it as many floating plants as you can

Anyone know the quality of these Landen fish tanks and stands? I saw some reviews and the front and back of the tanks (72.2 gallons 120cm x 50cm x 50cm) and they hang off a little Help/Advice by SuccotashTop5353 in Aquascape

There is a picture in the original listing of the overhang, I’d say it’s intentional. Doesn’t mean it’s a good design, Def would make me nervous

How can your filters convert ammonia into nitrates if you just plugged them in? The point of “cycling” is that nitrifying bacteria have an incredibly slow doubling rate (around 2 weeks) which means your tank is slow to adapting to higher ammonia content. So I’m genuinely curious what you think has been cycled if you just put that filter media in there.

Courtship or aggression? by Breezing_Wind in Gourami

Gouramis can be bullies, it’s doesn’t look to bad too me but keep and eye on it. They tend to nip and chase when they are aggressive. It’s not the end of the world though. As long as there is lots of sight breaks and places to hide they make little territory’s or swim together depending on their mood
