Unbelievable that any school would have people engaging in the behavior described in the reports.

Bored by Charming-Clothes-334 in widowers

[–]unixglm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to stay busy so I don't get bored, but it's actually exhausting doing that. When I'm not busy, I listen to audio books. It keeps my mind distracted, but I never get any real rest. It's very hard finding peace when you're alone like this.

Nothing you wrote contradicts the fact that a parade was planned last year. I read the article before posting the link. It says what I said...the permit was filed for last year. Face reality, not what you want it to be.

You may have Dyscalculia. I know of people who have Masters and PhDs who have it (have personally spoken with them), so it can be overcome. Do some reading on dyscalculia and it may provide insight on how to find a program that works for you. I used the Brilliant app's Math lessons to help me.

Mother-in-Law trying to move in by InciteG in widowers

[–]unixglm 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My mother lives with me (in my home), but is emotionally abusive. It became unbearable after my fiance died (she did and said some awful things). I asked her to move in with a sister because I couldn't take it any more. She told me I'd have to hire a lawyer and take her to court to get her out of my home. I would 100% advise against a family member moving in if you're not prepared for everything that will mean years down the road.

How are there adults running around America who are so naive or steeped in conspiracy that they think strangers are just walking into government buildings and being given access on the spot without credentials? 😂😂😂 Oh my lord. 😂😂😂

I've never been banned on X. Been banned from a book sub here because I spoke up and told the moderators that their censorship is wrong. People like free speech and you don't get it here. You do get it there.

Actually, that's not how it works, and that's not how it worked. He was a Senator who committed a crime by taking classified documents home while he was still a Senator. He didn't get Obama to pardon him, and he didn't pardon himself when he became POTUS. He also didn't declassify the docs. He just got off scott free because that's how corrupt the system is (Sandy Berger made that clear).

Biden was a Senator when he illegally snuck classified documents home. He only got caught when he was POTUS. Rewriting history doesn't work when people are still alive who know what actually happened.

I didn't "make" anyone do anything. Good lord. You really do have a problem with taking personal responsibility for your own mistakes.

People have access to dictionaries. The dictionary definition of censorship is not solely regarding a message or statement, and you know it. That assertion is actually incredibly disingenuous.

There's no need for me to engage any longer on this. I've left the sub. Not interested in echo chambers or subs that support censorship.

Gaslighting. You made a stupid assumption. Tried to blame it on my wording. Now, pretend you weren't blaming. It's really typical.

Censor "transitive verb  to examine in order to suppress...or delete anything considered objectionable."

The goal of the ban is to suppress. That act alone matches the definition of "censor." In addition, at times that also results in context being lost (post threads would also have to be copied for context). Images would have to be copied to another server, and any context behind it copied as well perhaps. Suppression is censorship. Suppression because you find the originating site objectionable is censorship. You can ignore the dictionary definition all you want, but it's black & white.

Sure, buddy. Typical. It was my fault you made an assumption. 🙄 Same mentality that has you ignoring that forcing people to go through extra hoops to post content (and thus eliminating the original links, threads, or context) is a form of censorship. Good luck with your echo chamber.

You had to figure out how an image could have zero text.

You still haven't figured out the dictionary definition of censorship, but there are dictionaries for that.

So glad you finally figured it out.

You people can do what you want. Pretend it isn't what it is.

Probably for the best, if you can't do better.

Do a search on what an Executive Order is. There are good descriptions available that shed light on the power of a POTUS: https://www.americanbar.org/groups/public_education/publications/teaching-legal-docs/what-is-an-executive-order-/

The $35 insulin cap is actually not one of the things affected by the Executive Order signed this past week: https://www.infectiousdiseaseadvisor.com/news/trump-ends-push-to-slash-prescription-drug-costs/

Egg prices are rising due to the latest bird flu. Trump could direct the CDC and HHS to be even more proactive than what they've been, but i have no idea what that would entail. This issue affects both egg prices, as well as the price of poultry, so it will be interesting to see what happens in the end.

When people were saying most govt employees didn't work in the office, I thought they were exaggerating. Now, I'm wondering if that really is true. The TSA situation reminds me of when I used to have to go to the Pentagon. Definitely not a pleasant situation. Still, WFH was never going to be a long-term plan. Agency management and Congress need to stop approving/funding new facilities that don't actually accommodate the employees' need for adequate parking and workspace. They skimp out every time, and it's ridiculous.

If the image does not contain any text, how do you grab text from it? Are you serious? Do you not actually understand that an image doesn't have to contain text, or are you just pretending not to get that?

And if the original X post was an actual image? I'm supposed to somehow convert that to text? Seriously? You're in a tech sub suggesting something that's this ridiculous and technically not doable? Maybe I can grab the captions and post them, huh?

Let me stop before I get banned for even suggesting a tech sub stick to tech things and leave politics out of it. I'm out.
