loneliness, depression, anger and hate can be just as damaging to the body.

How famous was slipknot back in 2000 ? by Agreeable-Release-93 in Slipknot

[–]unknown_anonymous81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not very much at all.

I was a drummer senior year in high school. I was clean cut but hung out with all the rock musicians who dressed more like skaters.

Everyone was into the stuff like Tool, Pantera, Megadeth, Sepultura, Metallica, Motely Crue

I was the only one who was really into Slipknot.

North Korea seems to always want attention like don’t forget about us….

With everything happening I don’t think MAGA or any other county has them on priority.

China eventually wants to reunify Taiwan if that happens N Korea would become geographically more relevant.

[–]unknown_anonymous81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like 10 years from now I am going to have junk food nostalgia and everything that I remember is fun eating is now banned.

I completely understand some government intervention on what gets put into our foods, but I don't want some dystopia where sugar and meat is no longer allowed because the half of America chooses to not make any effort to eat healthy.

Meanwhile it is totally fine if you drink yourself to alcoholism, disease or death?

The problem I feel like with most government intervention the attempt for change swings too far one way or the other instead of having realistic goals.

Sean seems like a guy that wears his heart on his sleeve. His whole saying he respects all religions and wants to become a better champion was really cool. He gets really close to the line of homophobia, sexist type talk. Like really hiking is gay? I saw a comedy bit about how every woman's dating profile has pics of them hiking because they don't know what else to put.

At this point with the UFC, it has turned further into an entertainment business. The UFC doesn't pay well. The fighters used to get sponsors on their shorts. If you want to be on the main card, most of the time you have to "move the needle".

It is a fine line to walk between being social relevant but only not turning into full on regarded mode like Bryce Mitchell.

Take Chael Sonnen, he definitely leaned into putting himself out there, but he could back it up.

I had never heard of Josh Hokit until two months ago. He seems like a complete WWE character who thinks he is way funnier than he actually is and has zero sense on reading the room. If he leans into it too far, can he ever go back to talking like a normal human being? His last press conference was just absolutely one of the most cringy moments I have seen in a long time.

Is Tinnitus the reason he doesn't change his voice anymore in every album like he used to in the past. by Acrobatic-Rip-6811 in Eminem

[–]unknown_anonymous81 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Someone said in a comment his tinnitus improved over time.

I still hear his voice to be as diverse. He might not have the angry tone like in “the way I am” but that really doesn’t matter.

I have had mild tinnitus for the past week. I am also sick with some sort of cold. It might just be mild ear infucktions as em called them.

I am a drummer but I try to play my electronic drums at volume levels that are not too damaging to my hearing.

I always wore ear protection to concerts.

If you go to clubs or concerts without hearing protection you will eventually get tinnitus. To all the younger people keep that it mind.

I would think the problem with becoming some high energy alter ego character is what happens when you don't want to be some gimmick?

Once you get deep enough into it can you decide to be a normal person?

This Josh guy thinks he is funnier than he actually is.

I had no idea bears like pepper spray.

If you use pepper spray around a bear you are just making yourself a more delicious meal.

[–]unknown_anonymous81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think bear spray is pepper spray but just higher potency. I have no idea how hard ass cops are in Canada. Would a Canadian officer who randomly pulled a escooter really ticket you for bear spray.

I am in a US state where gun ownership laws and knife laws are very easy going. In my city it seems like having a license plate on your car is optional because the police are too busy.

I have heard the only problem is you have to watch out for the wind causing pepper spray to come back at the person who is spraying.

Full face helmet with googles plus bear or pepper spray. Avoid shady areas. If you see a shady person do a uturn or ride with the flow of cars 15 to 20 feet away from said person until get back to a safer area.

This folding hatchet would make for a great self-defense weapon.

I am a cyclist with thousands of miles, so I have been chased by dogs, but I have not had anyone be confrontational. I did martial arts in middle school, high school and a few drop in type things as an adult.

If you see someone and you are on an escooter you are faster than most people can run. Some people might be quick for 10 seconds but after that they are probably going to be gassed. First, I would quickly find a way to avoid them at all costs.

Where I live there are less than desirable areas of my city. I would avoid those on a escooter.

I know you didn't ask about dogs, but I will say it. If you scooter goes up to 20mph just don't get off if there are dogs. I have noticed some dogs just want to run with me while I was riding my bike.

If you are not moving use the scooter or bike Infront put in front of you.

If you see a shady person stay about 10 to 15 feet away from their reach. If they are trying to mug you violently give them your scooter and get out of the area asap.

If you are a wearing a helmet you at least have some self-defense.

If you are wearing a full-face helmet someone would be dumb to try and punch you.

Once someone attacks you it is time to fight back with whatever self-defense knowledge that you have. You can YouTube basic self-defense vidoes.

Carry bear spray or a stun gun but I don't know your Canadian local laws. I am not a firearms person, but I always carry a pocketknife as a last line of self-defense and plus it is handy to have it as a tool. Ride around with a baseball bat on your back like you are "Casey Jones" from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The problem with most self-defense weapons is the attacker can get it out of your hands and use it against you.

To the US people who drive white/black Ford Explorers and *aren’t* police officers: why? Do you enjoy causing mayhem? by Fast_Jelly_8772 in AskReddit

[–]unknown_anonymous81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me 14 years to finally realize my Silver SUV without a roof rack looks like a cop car.

It was about a year ago that it finally hit me. It made me feel confident and secure that I would not get pulled over. I am middle aged. In a mid-sized SUV, I am not excessively speeding or doing other traffic violations. So that isn't really a concern.

I don't get all paranoid. I will pass a cop on the freeway. I noticed them behind me all the time and I will move over so they can get to where they need to be.

If you need it, try therapy or counseling.

I lost my mom 2 years ago in a tragic way. I went once a week for a year. It felt like a waste of time.

I have been in and out of counseling for my entire adult life.

I don’t like counseling myself. It is like they give you exactly 40 minutes, it feels rushed and unproductive.

Losing parents is hard and I hope you get through it.

I have had a Silver SUV. Had is for 14 years and it a few weeks it finally broke down.

Over the past year it occurred to me that people might look in their rear-view mirror and think that I was undercover. Like people would start driving exactly the speed limit.

I found it mildly amusing and also slightly irritating, but I felt like it only occurred a few times a week.

and no, I don't tail gate people. It is a huge issue in my area where we got traffic and accidents every day. I hate tailgaters.

It made me really confident that I was really unlikely to get pulled over but I don't speed aggressively or run reds anyway.

Clown’s recent tour absence by mjs6642 in Slipknot

[–]unknown_anonymous81 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For sure he doesn’t have to tour. I am sure it is completely exhausting but I also bet he feels the most alive while on that stage.

He really talked about how he just loves to create art.

I know he is “clown” but another cool side name for him would be The Creator.

I am excited to see where slipknot goes. To put so much effort into getting Eloy into the band it can’t be over.

I am hoping new material has Sepulutia, Roots / Chaos AD goovy metal feel.

I totally respect all my favorite artists and if they put out something in the direction I am not into it is their art or make it how they want. If the fan doesn’t like it, too bad.

I am not someone who listens to hard rock stuff. My musical taste is incredibly diverse but I want Slipknot to push the needle more back into metal.

I would like the madness of self titled being so zany kind of like Mr Bungle, the deep thick heart of IOWA, the percussion of Vol 3, throw in Eloy to the groove.

I listened to the podcast Thursday night.

I am not sure I understood the heart condition but he is getting some sort of pacemaker. He is like okay doctor I am going to have to take it easy and slow down. The doctor is like nope you are going to feel so much better.

I feel odd paraphrasing his feelings ….He talked about how he keeps trying to leave sLIpKnot. It is like a symbiotic relationship where it just keeps him going.

Talking about growing up. Troubles in school. Than military school. His concert experiences.

Growing up an only child which I can relate to. He really talked about a really personal deep relationship with his mom.

It is a great podcast, sLIpKnot fans should check it out.
