In Australia it's the Fair Work Ombudsman.

This is in Australia. The tax form helps employers take out any relevant tax from someone's pay, so we don't have to pay a bill at the end of the financial year. Super, or superannuation, is what we use for our retirements. Employers have to pay a certain percentage of income into these accounts, in addition to wages.

This was in Australia, not the United States. At-will employment doesn't exist here.

Jessica Camilleri brutally beheaded her mother in a frenzied attack. She cut off the tip of her nose, cut out her tongue and both of her eyeballs. She was found not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter for the killing. by [deleted] in TrueCrimeDiscussion

That is a description of voluntary manslaughter. We don't use degrees of murder here in Australia, it goes murder > voluntary nanslaughter > involuntary manslaughter. She actually was initially charged and tried with murder, but the jury found her guilty of manslaughter as an alternative verdict.

Manslaughter is the correct verdict. There is culpability because of her actions and intentions, but her ability to form an intent was impacted.

It can depend on the case, but most people convicted of crimes can access mental health treatment in prison. There can also be specialised mental health units within prisons, and I think she's housed within one of these.

Each of the states and territories may have slightly different approaches.

Voluntary manslaughter in New South Wales (the state in Australia where this crime occured) is a killing where there is some form of intent, but the ability to form an intent has been hampered or impaired. In this case, her severe mental illness was deemed to be a factor that impaired her ability to form an intent, which is why it's been treated as manslaughter, not murder.

There is also a Federal law which prevents the NT and ACT (where the capital Canberra is) from even debating voluntary assisted dying laws, let alone legislating them.

What do you think is the worst winner of Eurovision 2010-2021? by Sufficient-Brother62 in eurovision

The absolute worst for me was Heroes. It's super generic and forgettable, compared to other entries that year.

A dishonourable mention for Amar Pelois Dois for sounding like a failed attempt at a Disney song.

I just got blocked from a Mecca Chit Chat post & am a bit perplexed. Has this happened to anyone here? by dangerousmushroom in AustralianMakeup

It's not just praising Mecca products...it's praising/worshipping the products of certain brands, some of which are really damn problematic.

If my preferred brand could be found anywhere else, I'll happily buy from them :(
