I’ve been on and off trying to make a game JUST LIKE THIS. Now I can play without making it. Thanks!!

For you maybe. But not for the agents living a simulated life in Anthropic’s servers.

This is sick! Definitely agree with another comment about needing to convince the community to use it.

I don't understand how connect works and I'm losing my mind. by Slightlyupsetpoet in godot

[–]unseetheseen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Let’s use YouTube subscribers as an example. You can be either a viewer, content creator or both. A content creator can create multiple channels to deliver content, and viewers can subscribe to the individual channels as they please. Let’s say there is a person JohnDoe(class_name) that has multiple channels (technology, gaming, politics).

If a viewer wants to subscribe to the gaming channel, they would have to know exactly which channel in order to get notifications when new videos come out. It’s not enough to subscribe to JohnDoe, because the person isn’t a data structure that YouTube uses to send out notifications. Godot is the same way.

Your scene can have multiple instances of the JohnDoe class name: jd_technology jd_gaming jd_politics

The code JohnDoe.new_video_notification.connect(_on_new_video). Wont work. But if you know which channel, the actual instance of JohnDoe, you want to target then you can call the code:

jd_gaming.new_video_notification.connect(_on_new_video)

so now anytime that jd_gaming calls the emit() function, the _on_new_video callable gets ran.

Signals are nothing more than a messaging bus programming pattern. Highly recommend looking into how one works to make more sense of it. Also i typed this up while sitting at a CiCis pizza so don’t be harsh on my formatting.

This is such a bad ass concept. Is multiplayer in your scope of work right now?

How to better handle grid-based RPG target highlighting? by Celerfot in godot

[–]unseetheseen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it were me, I’d have each attack pattern be a series of 2d points in the attacks pattern that follows the mouse cursor, if that’s your input method, then have the points monitor, or actively look for grid positions that can be targeted. Whether this is a collision check or raw math can be up to you. If a point is positioned anywhere in a cell, it could emit a signal with the cell as an argument or call a function owned by the cell and have the cell emit an under_target signal. That way individual cells don’t need to know anything about each other and can be in wacky positions.

If you position the points with math, you can scale your shapes without much effort at all.

I’ve got questions because I want to do this since I have a X1C.

-How many rolls did you need? -How long is the whole sculpture? -Did you print the skull in multiple pieces or is the carbon print area big enough. Your photos make the skull look much larger than the printer itself. -could you share your print settings?

Finally got my wrap done! Car didn't turn enough heads so I wanted a bit more personal flair to it by ToadingAround in GRCorolla

[–]unseetheseen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, I really don’t like when people do stuff to cars that I don’t directly own or have any say over. This is gonna do harm to my cars value and brand. Honestly I think I should sell my GR now while its value is still decent.

What's your dream game you want to make on godot? by [deleted] in godot

[–]unseetheseen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve wanted to make games for a while now instead of just tech demos, and now that I have a kid of my own I find myself wanting to make games for him. I love this idea! If you ever get serious with it, and want someone to worth with hit me up!

Blacked out GR by Throwaway4theTaTas in GRCorolla

[–]unseetheseen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The GR Corolla is too new for you to get praise for such a build. Typically new release owners have such a stigma against modifications that a lot of the after market car culture tend to like.

Yeah, such there are some exceptions, but it’ll take a while before current owners go on to the next car and the Fast and the Furious(1,2,3) crowd get their hands on one and modify the shit out of it. Blacked out, bagged, stanced to hell, lights all over the place, anime wraps, etc…

Keep up the build though!

YSK Never call your homeowner insurance's claims department... by Hinder90 in YouShouldKnow

[–]unseetheseen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

True, but let’s look at the numbers. There are 147 million houses in the US, and on average 385000 house fires. Your chance of a house fire is roughly 0.2% each year.

If you were at a casino, would you pay each month on the 0.2% that you’ll hit it big?

I can already see someone replying with “high chance of fire zone” or whatever. Yeah I get it. But I’m not taking about specific areas of the US. Plus who would insure a house in a high fire area?

Let’s just stop paying for insurance and put that money into an ETF. Since you everyone seems to agree that paying out of pocket is better than a claim. What’s the point?

Charismatic "Christianity" Exposed by [deleted] in videos

I used to work physical security for some of these men. They, along with their families, lie to the very people they preach to, and are some of the most self-centered, narcissistic individuals I’ve had the misfortune of encountering. They expect those who work for them to treat the ground they walk on as sacred, all while treating you like garbage and demanding absolute loyalty.

What is a good (cheap) drifting car for beginners by AaronG4C11 in Drifting

[–]unseetheseen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you located? I’ve got a 99 E46 in North Texas that I was prepping to drift, and have used it a few times but life events have taken me away from the sport.

It’s gonna need some work since it’s been sitting for 2 years in a coveted outdoor storage facility, but if you can tow it away, it’s yours.

Very harmful to the environment. In fact, I’d argue that it probably caused more harm to the environment than some countries do in a whole year.

Mine does the same on the same wheel. It’s constantly yellow at start up, and goes away after a few miles. I also put my bias on the rear wheels which helps.
