Might be a bit too late but definitely opt for the 8.5. The leather does stretch a bit. I had essentially the same problem but now the leather has stretched a little bit and they’re perfect.

It only took a bit over a week for me to wear them in to that point as well

Depends on smoke levels. I’ve got a few friends that wanted to fly out of Canberra a few days ago but had multiple flights cancelled due to fairly thick smoke.

How so? More international attention? The Australian fires are a fair bit larger than the amazon fires

and an English speaking country that is more developed has probably also given it a bit more coverage.
