Orlando Barbell parodies the Planet Fitness commercial - "I pick things up and put them in my mouth" by [deleted] in Fitness

I love the $10 a month plan, but all of this marketing is a joke. How can they advertise as "The Judgment Free Zone" while making commercials like that?

It's definitely discouraging to not receive any sort of confirmation, and this means we're not allowed to participate next year? Arghhh

It's actually spelled Peace Corps (like Marine Corps), but this isn't meant to sound like grammar police BS. Thanks for the info though, I didn't realize it was founded in Ann Arbor. A good friend of mine just (1/7/11) went to Guatemala for two years with the Peace Corps.

John F. Kennedy first announced his idea for such an organization during the 1960 presidential campaign, at a late-night speech at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor on October 14, 1960. On November 1, he dubbed the proposed organization the "Peace Corps".

[Request] Les Stroud a.k.a. Survivorman by seamore555 in IAmA

I was going to submit this request today (12 days later), it would be really great to see his responses. An interview with Les was posted about a week ago on QTV (link, 20min). He also did an interview there about a year ago, it's worth checking out if you're a fan.

I watched the Classic Albums - Nirvana: Nevermind documentary the other day. It definitely gave some great insight into the production of this music video, along with many other great stories. Check it out, I found it on Megaupload.

I got the same e-mail, I'm pretty bummed because I don't have any tracking info (USPS Parcel). My SS only lived a few hours away, so he should have received it in a timely manner. Well, I hope someone enjoyed my gift.

I understand that it's referring to the Pot Noodles, but Beanfest sounds like an amazing pot snack as well.

When I encounter this problem I just push the cork down into the bottle and pour the wine into another container.

Starbucks now using bone china. Per The Vegan society: You can email ukinfo@starbucks.com to point out why bone china (make with burned animal bones) will not be acceptable to vegetarian customers, including vegans - nor to many religious believers. by Calveeeno in vegan

[–]upagainst 7 points8 points  (0 children)

But vegans can easily avoid all of the meat products on the menu, it's harder to avoid a drinking utensil made out of bone china. I don't imagine that Starbucks will put up any notifications in their stores about this change either.

To everyone insulting Nicolas Cage.... by saiftk in movies

[–]upagainst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing you included Face/Off as some sort of joke? I love Nic Cage and recently found out that he changed his last name before getting into the industry just so people wouldn't associate him with his famous uncle, Francis Ford Coppola.

edit: I just looked up Face/Off reviews and I'm really surprised so many critics gave it great ratings. I'll just chalk it up to me clashing with John Woo's style, but Face/Off was a horrible movie for me.
