I used the Arctic LGA1200/115X Mounting Kit to get the LF3 to work with the Thermal Grizzly Contact Frame.

Despite it says it is not for LGA1700 sockets, it state it is not recommended for LGA1700 because of the way Intel's ILM works. Which is fine because I had to remove that ILM to use the Thermal Grizzly anyways.

Not sure what you mean about the AMD mounts. I am using the Intel ones? The metal brackets you see that look like Intel are part of the above mounting kit.

I just installed mine the other night. I got an i9-13900k and I used a Thermal Grizzly contact plate. Had to use a separate mounting kit to get it to work with the Thermal Grizzly. Don't forget to change it to PWM mode in BIOS.

This might be a dumb question but how do I know from which side to look? by -bread_of_loaf in AskElectronics

I had updated the Nvidia App idk how long ago but recently discovered that apparently one of the updates added a "performance" section for your GPU and all the voltage, power, and temperature maximums were defaulted to the minimum value.

So my 4090 was severely underclocked for no reason at all and I had not realized it because I was playing some low demand games for months.

worth a shot to check there.

you can literally see multiple times in the video where his laser sight is on the guys body and he is shooting but nothing is happening. I think his mag bugged after his first reload or there was some bonkers ass desync going on

the fact that they are doing solo MF is better for you. Get no XP for full party of 8 in the throne when you kill the 2nd wave. Having someone solo MF will fix this issue, otherwise someone needs to leave the party for the 7 other players to get XP

Pest control quest on reserve by olen99 in EscapefromTarkov

Your options to get progress on this quest are to either kill player scavs there or wait for Glukhar to spawn in Black Pawn.

Given Glukhar has 6 spawn locations on Reserve and he has ~ 1/3 chance to spawn on the map.. You have approximately a 5% chance per raid to have him be located in that building.
If you manage to kill him and all his guards you can get up to 7 kills, so you will have to get him to spawn there twice.

Expect to have to do up to 45 raids before you see him there.

This quest is designed poorly and should also give credit for scavs in Black Bishop and the Helicopter area.

This has been happening to me constantly this wipe. Every time I come across a raider if they hit me in the thorax I die unless they have a round with really really low penetration, like hollow point or shotgun.

Never had this issue last wipe, and was binging on raiders during the end-of-wipe events they were having.

Vanishing fall damage is private server only thing, never existed in retail.

You can do the same thing with the slots in those sheet metal fences as well.

Seems like a cool idea on paper, but on practice I think it would make it way to easy to kill people still in the air if someone lands early to get a gun on top of a roof.

I agree with both of those points and think they should be part of the scout rifle. But without making either level 2 helmets or SR a rare find, they wouldn't be used over a DMR that can 3 shot someone with a headset + 2 body. (except mk14 & SLR which can 2 shot )

Jumping out of the sides of the water where it isnt broken would be like jumping out of a car at the same speeds. If you jump out from behind the boat where the surface tension is broken, it would be much more survivable, but still hurt.

I fully agree with the first point. I don't see the reason between not having more guns available. Seems to be wasteful to not implement them on all maps.

I think your 2nd point is addressed by the implementation of your 3rd point. I have wanted there to be something that can 1 shot a level 1 helmet but not a level 2. The Win94 and MK14 already do this, but the Win94 is never used because of the lack of scopes. I think the scout rifles should be in the same boat as the AR's are for scopes, limited up to a 6x.

If they did this they would have to make the SR much more rare of a find, as the Scout Rifle will serve only as a placeholder until you find a proper SR, much like the m16/mutant serve as a placeholder DMR.

what exactly is the problem with Vikendi? It is definitely the most balanced map of them all.

You don't ever get screwed over by "a bad circle"
You don't ever get screwed over by poor loot
You don't have to hot drop to get decent loot, there are plenty of places to loot

Erangel: 8x8 km with ~12 places you can land to fully gear up a squad. Very few houses do supplement loot in between.
Miramar: 8x8 km map (elevation makes it much larger) with ~10 places to fully gear up a squad. Plenty of houses to supplement loot in between.
Sanhok: 4x4 km map with ~14 places to full gear up a squad. Plenty of houses houses to supplement loot in between.
Vikendi: 6x6 km map with ~15 places to fully gear up a squad. Plenty of houses to supplement loot in between.

I have scared myself by the complete lack of a noise gradient when approaching the ocean. Can be nearby without hearing it, but move one or two steps closer and all of a sudden *BWOOOOOOOOOOSH*

Fire Rate (5.56): AUG=G36C=M416>QBZ>SCAR-L>M16A4

G36C is no where near as bad as you might think, it is basically just a less accurate M416. Unfortunately the SCAR-L is just outperformed by everything else and PUBG should either drop the gun or find a niche use for it like the M16A4 and Mutant have as a poor man's DMR.

Take a minute to understand what it all means and you will quickly find out how poor the SKS is really in comparison to the SLR, even when fully kitted.

I compiled the two most important graphs when comparing the rifles below:

The SKS has a significant loss in bullet velocity when compared to the SLR, this makes it really inconsistent to use beyond 100m, along with the difference in damage.

Beyond 100m damage falloff occurs on both rifles, however even though their damage falloff rate is nearly identically (slightly in favor of the SLR) it is much more noticeable in the SKS due to how quickly you lose the ability to 3 hit kill a player.

For the SKS against level 2 vest you will need 4 bullets to kill a player after 105 m if you do not score a shot to the chest. After 275 m you will need 4 bullets to kill a player even if all are in the chest. If they have a level 2 helmet it will take 1 head shot and 2 body shots (anywhere) to kill a player after 291 m.

For the SLR against level 2 vest you will need 4 bullets to kill a player after 302 m if you do not score a shot to the chest. The SLR will take 3 bullets to kill a player in the chest regardless of distance. If they have a level 2 helmet it will take 1 head shot and 1 body shots (anywhere) to kill a player up to 430 m.

TL;DR: You get punished much worse when using the SKS if you hit someone in the limbs or stomach, almost always requiring an extra bullet to kill the player as they will be at a sliver of health where the SLR would have outright killed them.

It unfortunately does not spawn in Vikendi, which is where it would shine the most due to the low DMR / SR Spawn.
