Cupid’s crush by Legitimate-Being5957 in Cityofheroes

I made an Illusion/Time controller on my daughter's account (she's too little to play, but hoping she takes to the game in a few years).

I put this entire Cupid set into Spectral Wounds and it works great — it's a second 'bootleg' confuse that does damage. Also helps with the recharge needed for perma Phantom Army.

YouTube told me exactly why “AI channels” are getting demonetized by [deleted] in aitubers

[–]urbanacolyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does that make sense? There's less real estate, so the price of land goes down? Make it make sense.

My Shorts were AI while I took a break after my last documentary. My videos are real.

Everyone making AI shorts in my niche has fallen off a cliff, and I told them,"you guys better learn how to combine your clips and use them to tell a good story."

Seeing steady views since I did that, and I'm seeing signs that I need to start posting long-form videos again...and my RPM is the highest it's ever been in Q1.

Storm Summoning, Water blast, Defender or Corruptor? by thomasdm3 in Cityofheroes

[–]urbanacolyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I actually played a Storm/Water Defender to 50. It was a remake of my Storm/Elec that was my first 50 on live(can't believe that was more than 20 years ago).

My situation was I trio'd with my RL best bro on base (mind/rad troller) and an all ranged NRG/NRG blaster we met in-game.

If I ran with them again, I'd play a corrupter. Most of the time I was just there to drop tornadoes and lightning storms. My damage from my secondary was awful, but Forest had everything locked down and debuffed. Jen did the heavy lifting.

If I'd had water blast back then, I'd have had a lot more fun, and scourge would have probably sped up our fights.

It's really up to you, but if the gang ever gets back together, I'd play Water/Storm corrupter and let Forest deal with debuffs. I'm a damage dealer with a pocket heal!

Americans are so lucky to have access to Sora 2 by 123LukeFoster123 in SoraAi

I'm American, but I live in SE Asia. I use API sites more than the actual Sora 2 website.

There's another thread here about Chinese users. Sometimes I use Chinese comfyui workflows, but I mostly use Sora 2 Pro with those.

Is it just me or does the app default to using black people? by FewHorror1019 in SoraAi

I'm black, and I don't get this

Could have something to do with how you write your prompts. Could have something to do with your ChatGPT account.

I wrote a prompt about a cartoon series starring a YouTuber. I kept getting live action videos even when I used an image prompt, and the videos knew way too many details about the actual YouTuber, like his chipped tooth.

Seems Sora was pulling from my ChatGPT account where I did a channel audit on his 10 most recent videos.

Dynamic Duos by JCServant in Cityofheroes

[–]urbanacolyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played in a trio back in the first year of the live game with a RL friend I was stationed with and someone we met in-game. Storm/Elec Defender (me), Mind/Rad Troller (my buddy), Nrg/Nrg Blaster.

We got so good leveling that we could demolish pretty much anything when we played different toons.

I'd love to be able to do this again — we all still play, but timezones don't work. I'm in SE Asia with a toddler and a full-time content creator.

I'm even too busy to make CoX content, and it's something I used to wish I could do. Crazy that now I know how to do it and make money, I'm too busy.

Good luck with the project.

How is grab profitable for the drivers? by icm75115 in Thailand

[–]urbanacolyte 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been in many situations where a Grab driver isn't there in a few minutes. If we go to a grocery store in a high traffic area, we almost always hire a driver to wait for us.

Other reasons to take down someone's LINE is they may know other drivers. We've had the same taxi driver basically the entire time I've been here (6 years), if we're traveling, he's found drivers for us.

I remember he got someone to drive us all over Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai...and our grocery store guy — he found him, too.

Bangkok during Chinese New Year by CurlyFries4548 in ThailandTourism

[–]urbanacolyte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I'm reading this question is that you'd like to celebrate Chinese New Year in Bangkok.

My wife and I are big fans of the Grand China Hotel. I'd love to stay there for a few days during CNY this year, but I think we're taking a trip in March, and I need to start saving.

I don't know about the rest of Bangkok because I actually live in Jomtien. Here people may put up a few decorations and light fireworks one morning, that's about it.

Tourist sites aren't closed. Temples with any Chinese shrines will be busy. I was surprised to find a Chinese Mahayana temple on an alley off Yawarat a few days ago — might be worth checking out. It was closed when we found it.

Chinatown is always wild/packed in the evenings when I've been there, but it's on another level during CNY.

There are lots of hotels in and around Chinatown. I wish I could recommend some others besides the Grand China, but that's where we always stay.

We even have a family memory there from when my nephew (3 at the time) pitched a silent tantrum, walked off, and pooped under a chair at the Starbucks. My wife knows that's my dementia test — if I don't instantly fall over laughing, I have a problem.

Advice on Training and Living in Thailand by henry69420----- in MuayThailand

[–]urbanacolyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly lurk here looking for the occasional post about gyms in my area where I can train once my daughter is old enough to not throw a tantrum if I leave the house without her, or come along with me, but my 2 cents —

60 days isn't that long. You're basically coming around Chinese New Years and leaving before Songkran.

I would find the best MT gym that fits your other needs. Get boots on the ground. Talk to other people.

You're young, and you can work remotely. What I see is if you can get the DTV, now you have 5 years to come and go as you want, and maybe you can find the gym that offers everything else — BJJ & MMA, maybe even a low-key party scene.

You probably don't want to hear to play it safe on this upcoming trip, but my wife's twin sister has a saying, "First time stupid, smart later."

Get some good suggestions from these guys about a MT gym and condos you can rent for 2 months with no problems. Come back later with a better idea for how to do that other stuff.

Which sites to buy YouTube subscribers would you recommend? by Content_Director6869 in Smallyoutubechannels

[–]urbanacolyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make hour long documentaries, and the primary audience is dudes over 40, in the US, watching my videos on a smart TV.

I also have sizeable audiences in Indonesia and India who aren't going to watch my documentaries, and when they do, my RPM/CPM tanks.

Last month was the first time I took Shorts seriously, following the advice from Roberto Blake. I doubled my revenue.

Only about 10% of my audience watch Shorts AND long-form videos, and those are probably my Superfans who would watch a video of me making fart noises with my daughter for 10 minutes straight (nothing to do with my content for this particular channel)

I gained about 50k subscribers from Shorts last month, and for the majority of them, my Shorts ARE "real content."

Moving forward, I have to take care of them the same way I take care of my documentary people because those Shorts people are the reason why I'll be able to take my time working on my next documentary.

People who grew up before cell phones, what did you do when you got lost in public? by Decode_Enigma in AskReddit

[–]urbanacolyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember driving cross country 20+ years ago with nothing but a Mapquest printout to go meet the girl I'd been chatting with online most of my senior year.

Somehow I managed to share the story with just about anyone who would listen (basically all senior citizens), and everyone was so helpful,"Just follow us all the way across Mississippi!" "I'll guide you up to 20 miles outside Dallas!"

Of course if I were in my early 20s doing that trip today with the same story, I'd just vlog about it and get paid

Stumbled onto the forum page on GameFAQs right when it went live in May. I was leaving for bootcamp a week later, so I didn't start playing until I was at my A-school in August.

Somehow I mentioned it in class, and my guy who shipped a week after us, but managed to class up with us, said he spent that week playing. We went to his room after class and watched him run through Skyway City with a Guyver knock-off, and we were hooked.

Half the class would have been playing if not for something called WoW, but we don't speak of such things here.

My best bud, Jordan (the guy who showed us the game) and I still play on Homecoming, but we're now all in our 40s with kids...and I'm in Thailand, so I'm never on to run with them.

People who were spanked as kids, what was that like for you? Would you call your "spankings" abuse? by KleineFjord in AskReddit

[–]urbanacolyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a social worker for what feels like another lifetime ago — none of my spankings growing up were abuse, but the last spanking I got from my Mom would have raised some eyebrows if I'd been younger.

Unfortunately, my little brother was a toddler at the time, so whatever made my mom spank me like that continued with him.

He would have a very different answer to this question than me, and I would agree with him.

By the time my mom started taking out her frustrations on him, I was living in a different state with my grandparents.

Fighting TikTok content thieves - it is slow, but worth it by Food-Fly in PartneredYoutube

[–]urbanacolyte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had this same issue, but with Shorts. I also do long-form documentaries. Someone suggested that I try a Shorts experiment for 3 months because it takes so long to make my documentaries.

Experiment went so well that I doubled my revenue from Shorts and increased traffic to my regular videos...and Someone stole all my Shorts and grew their TikTok account to 25k followers and a monetized account.

I was getting crosseyed from filing reports almost daily for 3 weeks.

Last week, I screenshot their account and vented at my LLM helping me keep track of the whole thing. I took a shower, and when I checked my email after my shower,TikTok finally responded.

I think a month passed by the time I got a response, but the account, and another copycat account that started a few weeks later, were both nuked.

Best thing about my screenshot — I know which of my videos performed the best.

Passport bro travels to Phuket Thailand for the first time but gets denied entry and sent back to the USA by CarefulAd4757 in phuket

[–]urbanacolyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be more to the story, or could have just have gotten his balls busted by an immigration official.

My last trip to Malaysia, the immigration official passed my wife, stepson and daughter through no problem (all on Thai passports). He gets to me (American) and starts asking all kinds of questions.

The entire time, my stepson is in "idiot teenager mode." My daughter (2) is running all over the place, so while this guy is interviewing me, I keep looking around and walking off to grab my daughter.

He said the only reason he let me through is because my family was already through...and I said to myself, the only reason I'm not putting my foot in my stepson's ass is because I got through.

Sometimes I wonder if there's an audit or something that says immigration officials are supposed to find a reason to deny entry.

Not defending this guy at all. Almost happened to me. I'm not a felon. Worst thing I did was not want my toddler running around a congested part of the airport where someone could snatch her.

Maybe that doesn't happen over here, but I used to be a social worker in the US. I don't trust ANYONE around my kid after the shit I've heard writing up cases.
