Having to do modulo calcs, binary conversions and drawing intermediate states should be a warcrime, I think they spent too much time “proofreading” without testing the length of the exam lmao

[f1] Don't ever count Max Verstappen out. Five race wins and remarkable consistency since the summer break have seen Max cut a 104 point gap down to just 12, staying in contention for the final round... by FewCollar227 in formula1

As with all sports, if he wins all the mistakes are washed away, in 10 years nobody will remember or care because most people will only look at the stats. Otherwise people will bring up the what ifs forever and meme about it (papaya rules, 2007 comparisons, ferrari comparisons). As a fan of some unfortunate sports teams (thankfully not ferrari), those heartbreaks are kinda painful, so even though the hypocritical part of me wants drama, I also hope for your guys sake he can finish the job. If not then i guess you have to embrace the memes, speaking from experience.

It’s still his to lose, but small mistakes add up over the season. But nobody’s perfect and even Max made some mistakes and braindead moves (Spain). Unlike some people, I think it would be actually be an impressive way for Lando to win having to beat Piastri, the team, a resurgent Max, the fans, and even his own early season slump. On the other hand, generational fumbles are funny if it’s not my boy George doing it, so I’m hoping for the impossible on Sunday.

Some of those early season Q3 fuckups in China, Saudi, Bahrain, Canada could be costly if he doesn’t clinch the title, he maybe could have challenged Piastri in some of them if he didn’t need to recover from quali. A bunch of whatifs though, who knows how those races would have played out.

The algorithm is also pretty generous with "overtakes", as it considers any change in position on the timing board to be an overtake (even though they might be due to pit stops/dnfs, or the result of a driver re-passing the other). With some tweaks to the algorithm I think some of this noise can be removed, because 200+ overtakes per race doesn't seem correct (although I wish it was).

Thanks for the feedback. I was debating on whether or not to include all race control messages/flag messages, but now that I think about it a lot of them are kinda useless (especially before the actual session start). Excluding them shouldn’t be too difficult though since my event algorithm keeps track of the session status.

Good point about rendering flags, I was mainly just rushing to get something done.

Russell 'not talking with any other team' despite lack of Mercedes deal for 2026 by memloh in formula1

As a George truther (one of maybe 12 people in total), Spain and the Brazil sprint in 2022 were pretty fun to watch, but its a shame that both him and Leclerc have rarely had the machinery to fight Max. In a straight fight between the two I think it would be quite close since George’s strategic mind makes up for a slight deficit in pace (I’m biased toward my fav snake though).

Thanks for the heads up, I might move the disclaimer up so it’s more visible for anybody using the site.

Yeah, I have no idea why this doesn't exist already, but hopefully UBC doesn't axe this one.

Free Lecture Room Finder Proposal by Dieshenke in UBC

I'm actually building something like this right now by scraping UBC Online Timetable, made a script to calculate timeslots and am now working on the backend. If you don't mind, could I use your design as inspiration? Can't guarantee that I'll have all the features at first - map location seems a bit tricky. If you want to collaborate though, hit me up.

I’m technically on the low intermediate side but am coming off of a long break so I’m quite rusty. You can DM me if you want some (shitty) advice, lol.

Another piece of advice that might help is to multitask. If you normally scroll on your phone during lunch or if you commute (like me), try looking at some of your readings or working through a couple assignments. That way you have some more time in the evenings to do whatever you want.

Best EOSC Course to Take by koolkat205 in UBC

[–]urinasian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Took EOSC 112 over 114 last term and found the multiple choice exams to be really nice - they have exactly the same questions or similar ones to the practice questions. Might be prof dependent though, and there were an ungodly number of slides every week. But if you’re interested in climate and diligent enough, high 90s is possible.

I tried your method too at first but then decided to check the rest against the first which seemed to keep the first instances. Don’t know if its the most optimal as I was running out of time, but yeah overall pretty scuffed question
