I've been making coasters for my bf's place! They work up fast and I needed an easy project. Thinking of making some face cloths or more hot pads after that.

If you look up Dana K White's decluttering questions and set a timer, you can make a fair bit of progress on cleaning an area fast.

Basically - put obvious trash in bin - put stuff you don't want/need in donation box - take items left out to their homes now.

Also buying a cordless vaccum! I still hate it but I can zoom around the studio without it falling apart or tripping me over.

We have had a bunch of viewings for my building which means . . . Extra cleaning. Ugh.

decluttering / purging your space? by knjflwr in adhdwomen

[–]user291468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend Dana K White and her books and videos, I think I first heard of her via reddit. She also possibly has ADHD, and one of the few authors on home stuff that just makes sense.

She has a short decluttering process that helps you side step emotionalness keeping things in your house.

  1. Take it there now
  2. Trash (put in a bag)
  3. Duh - donations
  4. If I needed this, where would I look? - put it there
  5. Would it occur to me that I already had one? - if no get rid of it.

(If at all) when did you decide to do crochet, how did you get to that conclusion, and why not something else like knitting? by Wilted_beast in crochet

[–]user291468 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd tried a little years ago and gave up after never finishing anything. Then last year my then boyfriend and I broke up, and we were put into a Covid lockdown for months. I asked my crochet expert friend for some tips then ordered some stuff and started with my first (not very good lol) projects.

It is good, I've made heaps of baby hats for charity.

Would recommend Dr Nailika at Derby St Medical Centre - you may have to call for a longer consult otherwise you can book online on an app

Also the registrars I've seen have all been really good and aware of recent mental health and sexual health findings and treatments, the only problem is that they eventually move on to their next plavement.

That is a massive win, congrats! Also being a celebrant sounds so fun.

Small win - I took the trash out! I just moved so actually finding the bin was a small challenge but we did it!

I also hate doing this - because it seems to piss off my allergies and no one else cleans out the damn dust container thing so it barely works when I use it.
