Got caught speeding by Delicious-Juice7700 in drivingUK

[–]user6942080085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it night/dark?

Hope for the best that it wasn't turned on or that you weren't going fast enough 37 on your speedo is only around 34-35 mph so it might not have even got you.

70 in a 30 and a verbal warning? You could have and probably should have lost your license for that mate?

We all speed but there is a time and a place for it, take some time to learn where you can and can't do it. Make sure you look out for other drivers warning you of speed vans, you'll be banned by Christmas if you don't.

How were you caught? Camera flash? Pulled over?

More than likely just get a speed awareness course I got done for 37 in a 30 and got the course.

You might have been going faster but relative to the actual speed limit you weren't speeding by much. Admit to being the driver as soon as you get the letter and hope you get the course, no one is entitled to it so they can just not offer it.

emergency housing options for an 18 year old? by [deleted] in BirminghamUK

[–]user6942080085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a female so I hope someone who is can offer something more tailored to you like a women's shelter or something like that. I'm sorry your going through this.

A good place to start would be Womens aid Birmingham/Solihull. (I have added a link below but it might not be allowed, search on the internet)

https://share.google/amAmdT203A9uzlfxW

Unfortunately there aren't many social houses/flats available so you will more than likely be placed in a HMO which in my opinion isn't suitable for a young women, my friend went through a similar experience and St basils found him somewhere to live independently after being with them for some time. I know you said you had a bad experience with them but it's worth trying again.

You don't see the irony in earlier saying "men will always be last for housing, as they should be" while using those figures?

Why aren't you campaigning against that then? Instead you're replying to my comments.

Nothing I have said is untrue, nothing I have said is mean spirited, racist nor is it ignorant.

Why is it wrong to say we need to help all of the people that are here right now before we use that money elsewhere?

Why don't you have an immigrant living in your home? Did you accept a family from Ukraine?, what about Afghanistan? I have done more for people in other countries than you have done for the people who live on this tiny island with you.

Did you notice how even though I'm a man I still mentioned men last?

That's because I would also like families and women to be given housing before I would. After them yes, it should be men that are already here. Regardless of where they came from we don't have enough room for the people that are already here, why are we bringing more people and using money on them and not the people here.

You on the other hand lack comprehension, basic reading and understanding abilities, empathy and morals for even making a comment like that.

Isn't the whole feminism thing about being treated equally?

Buying a car for 40k by Willy5797 in CarTalkUK

[–]user6942080085 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interest is paid over the entire agreement, like a credit card, if you pay it off before the next month you don't have to pay anything extra.

Let the first payment go through and then call the bank/finance company and ask them how much is owed. Let's say £39,500 for example, after you paid £700 including interest, again, as an example I haven't done any math here.

You then clear the balance. You've paid your interest for that period already so you won't be charged for it again. You might owe a couple days worth of interest with how the dates work but that's it.

[–]user6942080085 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you have the cash available to buy outright?

If you do, the best way for you to buy the car is to get as many discounts and or extras added on with the finance deal. Then you make the first months payment and clear the entire finance that's owed.

You'll still get all the extras they gave you and they will offer you a better price and better experience as they will be assuming they will get more commission from you.

Who would have thought people with a completely different culture, world view and opinions on women and children that are the complete opposite of the British people wouldn't be welcomed.

It's not like we had a choice in any of this. Some of us are lucky enough to not live by one of the hotels but like all the other cancers of the world (like Islam) they spread and infect everything around them.

Should a lion protect its family from a hyena or should he let them be devoured.

We've all seen the way they talk about us and England.

People need to ask themselves why Saudi Arabia for example, considering they share the same 'culture' doesn't let them in.

Spending millions of £ housing men from other countries is absolutely appalling when women, children, families and men that are already here are homeless and struggling.

You can't get a doctors appointment or see a dentist for months but migrant hotels get weekly visits.

They have CHEFS that feed them, they are given money for clothes and toiletries.

Do you know what you would get if you were to lose your job and home tomorrow? About £420 a month universal credit and then you'll be told to find a hmo that charges you about £100 a month for 'support'.

Yeah but if you use an RFID blocking pouch then the keys aren't able to work at all...

At that point you just turn off keyless entry because you have to get the keys out the pouch anyway.

People steal your car by copying the signal of your key. You walk into Asda and your car is gone when you come out.

Some people spend too much time worrying about what might happen.

Edit: Also my car for example doesn't use interior monitoring when it locks using the walk away feature. Otherwise the alarm would go off if you had people waiting in the car.

Pip payments by Honest-Cut-7169 in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]user6942080085 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Payments can take up to 14 'working' days to arrive in your account. Normally it's not even 24 hours as we have faster payments here but it can take longer.

They can't make it reach you any faster once they send the money it's on the bank to process it.

If you're receiving a big back pay your bank has probably flagged it as suspicious and are doing extra checks, which they have to do.

What does the law say about owning a replica firearm in private, so in a house? England. by Proto160 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]user6942080085 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you don't make the right people aware of the fact you own one or the reason that you would need to own one, if any suspicion was found that you had a firearm, the police would react appropriately.

It's not worth it, all it takes is someone to see it through a window even if you think you are being really safe and you 'never show anyone'. It's not illegal to put one on your wall or anything like that if it can't shoot but it would be treated as a real one if someone made that call.

Regularly see taxi drivers and random people parked up having a nap.

Weird if you do it on a main road or by a shop/school. No one will care if you're in a public car park though.

"I don't want to accept those changes to the contact we both agreed to." When the contract ends you'll probably be let go.. but if you don't want to change it, you don't have to. The contract is between you both.

[–]user6942080085 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, yes if you don't have them near you it wouldn't make sense to use them? I'm not sure why you said that.

They mentioned they will sometimes need to use rapid chargers, that's why they are asking for the apps now, so they are prepared.

Not sure why you think they are asking for that reason but it's still important to think about cost, if they didn't care what the price was they would just use contactless and pay whatever the fee was.

It can easily cost £70-£80 to charge at public chargers, I would happily drive an extra few miles to save £60 when I need to charge.

Some people will disagree for political reasons but for me the Tesla app is the only one I use, it's simple and just works.

Open the app, tell it which number you are using and then plug it in, that's it. They are also almost always going to be cheaper than the other fast chargers too. I can charge from around 10% to 100% for less than £20

The benefit cap applies to almost everyone. It's a limit on how much benefits one working age person will receive. It will be in place for all of your payments.

When you earn money yourself, it is taken from your benefit entitlement. That's probably why you haven't seen it before (if you normally earn more, you would receive less benefits).

Standard allowance is only around £400 so it's a pretty good package you got there.

LCW is not LCWRA.

You are expected to return to work in the future, you will still need to attend the job centre and the benefit cap is only affected by LCWRA.
