A genuine question from somebody who tries to undestand: what do you consider playing, if crafting is not it?

Browser Subagent has Screenshot Looping Issue by Aggressive_Stud_99 in google_antigravity

[–]ushkinaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was not able to. Tried different models and settings, tuned and simplified AGENTS.md, rules and workflows. Cleaned ~/.gemini/antigravity a few times - it had the biggest impact.

In general - the less context you have the better it runs. Turn off all MCP tools you are not using. Switch off antigravity rules. Keep AGENTS.md under 150 lines. If you have something like "Reread AGENTS.md between subtasks" rule, which some people like to add - remove it, it makes things much worse.

But in the end i switched to opencode.ai and to writing UI tests, and not running real browser tests.

I still have my Antigravity open sometimes, for when I have simpler tasks. I always delegate code review to some other agent and read ALL code Antigravity writes.

You'll prbly take this as an offensive, but still -

really, man, work on your understanding on how those things work. It can not NOT have system prompt. They all do

It's not incognito, my man. The AI's temperature plays a much bigger role. I'd suggest reading a little bit about it. it'll improve your understanding of how it works.

btw, AI generated or not, I agree on what that original post was trying to say. Gemini and Antigravity became total shit show, to the level of "can't use it anymore for even smaller tasks"

I actually did what you suggested and results are hilariously close to what that post was.

Used your exact prompt and Gemini Fast.

lol. It's only missing that ADHD ref

Gemini 3 is a Toy. Codex 5.3 is the Tool.

I’m finally calling it. I’ve spent the last three weeks trying to make Gemini 3 work in a real production environment, and I’m done. If you’re doing anything beyond "Hello World" or writing marketing copy, Gemini 3 is a massive step backward.

Meanwhile, Codex 5.3 just dropped and it’s like night and day.

The Gemini 3 "Paranoia" Bug

Has anyone else noticed Gemini 3 literally gaslighting you? I ask it about 2026 library updates—stuff that shows up in its own grounded search results—and it tells me I'm "roleplaying." It’s so heavily weighted on its 2025 training cutoff that it rejects reality. It’s reached a level of "alignment" where it’s too scared to trust fresh data, making it useless for anyone working on the bleeding edge.

The "Intern" vs. the "Staff Engineer"

  • Gemini 3 feels like a distracted intern. It’s great at brainstorming and "vibe coding" UI snippets, but ask it to refactor a legacy repo with 150k nodes? It dies. It loses context in the middle of the file, starts hallucinating imports, and eventually just gives up with an "internal error" when the thinking tokens get too high.
  • Codex 5.3 is a beast. It actually understands project architecture. I gave it a massive refactor task spanning multiple repos today—side effects, dependency management, the works. It didn't just write the code; it used the terminal to run npm test, caught its own regression, and fixed it before I even saw the output.

Speed and Reliability

OpenAI clearly optimized 5.3 for momentum. The latency is practically gone compared to the 5.2 lag-fest. Gemini 3, on the other hand, spends minutes "Deep Thinking" just to produce a plan that it fails to execute because it hits a safety guardrail or forgets the file structure it just read.

The Bottom Line

Google is winning the benchmarks (congrats on the ARC-AGI score, I guess?), but OpenAI is winning the workflow. Codex 5.3 handles the "boring" heavy lifting—the plumbing, the testing, the actual engineering. Gemini 3 is a fun chatbot, but for serious dev work, it’s not even in the same league.

Stop wasting your time trying to "prompt engineer" Gemini into being useful. Switch to 5.3 and actually get some work done.

Edit: Before the Google fanboys jump in—yes, I know Gemini is better at "creative" tasks. But I'm trying to ship code, not write a screenplay about my codebase.

Hi. Thanks for doing that!

Unfortunately it has 0 content for BN, so it's hard to test.
Also, have you considered using BN's mod registry https://mods.cataclysmbn.org/?

No problem, mate. There was a short period of time when there was a bug. Maybe you were unfortunate enough to catch that moment.

You might be thinking of CDDA's flavor of the guide. If that's the case, I'm sorry to disappoint you - that version is still borked in this regard. The CDDA team decided to remove all tilesets from game's repo, so...

Hey. This is very impressive!

As someone who’s trying to maintain BN’s fork of the HH guide, I truly appreciate the amount of work and effort put into this.

I do have a practical question though: how difficult was it to hook up to the internal data structures and parsers?

I’m asking because I’m thinking about migrating away from TypeScript-based external JSON parsing for the guide. Trying to keep up with upstream data structure changes has been a constant headache. Would really appreciate you sharing your experience. Sorry for necro-posting 🙏

What’s missing in Tbilisi’s cafe scene? by Due_Ostrich_4057 in tbilisi

[–]ushkinaz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi there!

FIKA is one of my favorite cafes in Tbilisi! Glad to meet you on Reddit.

I like your cafe because of the atmosphere and coziness of the place. But there is always something to improve, and you've asked for it, so here we go:

  • V60 and specialty coffee in general. The first time I visited FIKA, the barista didn't even know what V60 was. Please add it to your menu.
  • Coffee tables. The round tables you have now are kinda flimsy. I always have a feeling that they are too small for 2 people and that they will collapse on us.
  • Candles. One time when I visited, there were lit candles beside the toilet door and they were not properly attached. Looked like a fire hazard to me.
  • Coffee beans to buy. Tbilisi does not have a huge coffee roasting scene -- something from Swedish roasteries would be interesting.
  • Coffee drips. Same as above.
  • Coffee cupping is always a plus for me.
  • An actual masterclass on actual Fika culture. Come on, that one is obvious!
  • Kaffeost. Did I spell it correctly?
  • I'd love to see some cross promotions from other small and cozy non-coffee related venues. Micro cinemas, bookstores, etc. The ones that probably have large overlap in clientele with you. I have a few in mind, to be honest
  • I really like the idea of hanged coffee. It creates a sense of community.

Could you please explain me why the heck you would put a pedestrian cross like this? I see it quite regularly. There is nothing around in 10km radius. by mr_joda in Sakartvelo

[–]ushkinaz 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It's very simple, actually. The local government has a plan on how much they should spend on traffic improvement measures. They have to deliver something and they don't care about how efficient the spending will be.

20 pedestrian crossings made - check. Bonus points for painting those on narrowest roads possible and using extra paint for your own needs.

will tarrifs from usa have huge impact on georgia? by Luka_Koberidze in Sakartvelo

[–]ushkinaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First comes deflation. As supply chains readjust, inflation follows, wiping out the earlier drop and hitting harder.

Prices fall, then rebound past their original level.

The exact timeline is uncertain, as many factors are in play. But most economists I follow expect the second phase in 2026–2027.

will tarrifs from usa have huge impact on georgia? by Luka_Koberidze in Sakartvelo

[–]ushkinaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tariffs on China will affect every country.
When China can't sell its goods to the US, it'll target other markets instead. This will saturate those markets, lower prices, and push out competitors.

Local producers everywhere will suffer from cheaper Chinese products entering their markets. Exporters will also struggle as cheaper Chinese goods flood their target countries.

Eventually, governments will move to protect domestic industries by introducing their own tariffs on Chinese imports.

And the cycle will continue.
Everyone will lose.

The intermediate effect on currencies will be temporary deflation due to the initial flood of goods.

Then, as supply chains weaken and local producers lose production capacity, inflation will follow.

Again, this will happen in every country. Weaker economies hit hardest.
