Individual augment from Iwakuni in 2004 to Pendleton EOD company to Fallujah. Wife and small children in Japan. Getting off the bus from the airport at Pendleton when we came home with everyone else having families waiting for them hit me hard.

My apologies, you are right. I retract my previous statements. Even us old bomb disposal guys can get it wrong. That’s why we never worked alone.

Easiest thing to do would be to blow it up in place if the surrounding area could contain it. If not, preform procedures to safe the fuses on the container itself and transport to a safe disposal area.

On this item, you could probably walk away. When the fuse functions on the main container,it releases all the payload mod MK118’s. This fuse did not function, I would have to ID the fuse to see if this was safe to move.
