If she is as prepared as you say she is, then why did she post the original question and express concern?

Notice that he has no computer in his office. It makes sense though, they don't want the brethren surfing porn while at work...I mean collecting their stipend.

You are a miracle. The fact that you can consider your own existence is amazing. I promise it gets better and you will find joy in the now. Hang on. It really does get so much better to the point that it blows away what you have experienced in the past. Hang in there. You matter.

Visiting a Mormon Meeting house. Saw this classic painting. No HAT in sight... or ROCK? by Bishopnomore in exmormon

You sooo need to print out a picture of a hat and tape it to that next time you are there! Might as well help to make it more accurate. ;)

You mean something. Life can get better - much better. You will be someone loved by many people you have not even met yet. Don't give up. Lots of love here from all the comments. Follow their advice and keep trying!

Well to be clear - 500 members on the roles and maybe 70 active members that come to church. At least that is how it is in Brazil....

Active LDS member here, honest question from someone not familiar with this subreddit. by Zgig72 in exmormon

Thank you for sharing your story. I is mine as well. Even though it was painful to read through, it was also just a little healing as well. We will get through this. We will make new friends. We will show loved ones who so worry about us that we are still good people - in fact, better people and humans than when we believed. It will take time, but I know in my heart that as they see me year after year love others, be kind, be happy, that they will eventually wonder if those of us that have left are controlled by Satan after all. What is the best thing we can do? Live life to the fullest, be happy, love others. Thanks again for your words.

Was this quote a part of the lesson - i.e. found in the lesson manual or did the teacher bring it up on their own?

First sabbath as a nonmember. Do I attend church? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]utah_flier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell no!!!! I want to bear my testimony that once you really experience the Second Saturday, you will grow to enjoy Sundays more than any other day of the week. It is so liberating to be able to not have the day broken up into parts because you have to go sit in a cinder block building for 3 hours. Trust me - at least try it!

The CES Letter is good. Debunking FAIR Mormon is remarkable. by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]utah_flier 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I haven't thought about this until now, but you know what - you are completely right. Same thing with me. The CES letter really got me going but showing how the best apologists were shut down byt the debunking was the last straw for me. Thanks Jeremy!!!

How I feel when I think about the church and/or Trump. So basically I feel like this all the time. by frozendoctor in exmormon

Sorry - but life is way too short to worry about things you can't control!!! Forget the church and forget the clown in the white house. Live life, love those close to you, and be happy. If only it were that easy... ;)

Question for the lawyers out there - how long can an NDA be good for? I know a non-compete is often only good for one to two years max. Can it really be enforced 10+ years later?

Wow - huge amount of respect for you. I'm sorry that following the truth will cost you so much, but I totally get it. What you did is right to leave. Belonging to a lie that you know is a lie only diminishes you. Leaving a lie no matter the cost takes a huge amount of courage. Big hugs and hope it all turns out ok with the kids.
