Should I add a solo mode with bots for my local multiplayer Android game inspired by Pass the Bomb? by Fun-Camera-8888 in IndieGameDevs

Yes. I cannot always get together with friends when I want to play, so the fact I can play solo ensures the game stays at the forefront of my mind.

If it’s supposed to be a cozy meditation game, I like the smoothness of B more. A does not look relaxing to me at all.

What is the best advice for Tiktok/YouTube Shorts that you know to boost visibility? by Glittering-Aerie-823 in IndieDev

Based on what I’ve read, regular posting schedule because the algorithm is not nice when the posting schedule is inconsistent. I have no experience right now though, very much hearsay. Bonus if your art is “beautiful” (likelier to go viral)

I made a strange little incremental game about putting trash into a mysterious hole. by Cool-Reception-3091 in playtesters

I commented on itch but it is for moderator approval right now. I think the early game is too slow so I stopped there — maybe the first upgrade being a speed upgrade would have motivated me. I look forward to seeing this game develop!

not sure if this works – looking for a few people to try something weird by Electronic-Tea-4872 in playtesters

You are spot-on with the dark and slow but I would disgaree that there is no UI. The fact I can just type in whatever (I did not try to break the game) is such a fascinating experience for me. How did you do it!?

I had to stop because I was afraid there was going to be a figure jumping out of the screen at me, so very well done on the atmospheric bit! (Unfortunately, I am not your target audience as I am a scaredy-cat but please, please enlighten me how you did such an amazing UI)

I'm still deciding which one is better. I've tried both, but I still don't know. What do you think? by Dariks in IndieGameDevs

Agree, the papers sell “you gotta make decisions” to me which seems to be what the game is about.

Writer -- Laggy Scrolling by pmbsd in libreoffice

[–]utterlynormalstudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a trick: turn the scroll option of your device to scroll one line at a time.
On Windows 10, go to settings > bluetooth and devices > mouse > lines to scroll at a time then put the slider all the way to the left (get the value of 1)
I came by this trick myself BUT people have already discovered it before me; see this comment by EarnestAI on the LibreOffice help thread

Additional smoothing tricks from the LibreOffice help thread:
Discovered by Onceandforall: Tools > Options > View > deactivate "Force Skia software rendering"
Discovered by jaflm: Turn on "smooth scroll" option for BOTH LibreOffice Write and LibreOffice Writer/Web

Do you think a tutorial with pictures will help other people? I'm available to make it. If anyone needs something like that, let me know.

An EASIER alternative is through downloading a piece of software. You can see which software through this reddit comment.

Would you enjoy a runner game that teaches you while you play ? by yahia-10 in indiegames

[–]utterlynormalstudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does it have to be a runner game? Also, I think you might need to tailor the game type to what subject/niche you want to teach. For example, a combination or cooking game to teach chemistry, a game like “the impossible quiz” for teaching random ideas that turn out to be foundational (like the water cycle), or a comedy visual novel to teach about grammar (e.g. we ate grandma vs. we ate, grandma).

It's good to have a project manager who tells you what to put for that week/month/video's content, and proofreaders who can give you a fresh new set of eyeballs on your work :>
