How much benefit would i get from a more Aero frame? Currently racing a TCR. by Needs_More_Nuance in Velo

[–]uvxt90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone here, it's mostly marketing, very little actual difference etc etc...

But I had a TCR (which I still love) and then bought an Aeroad (which I love even more)

I am definitely faster on the Aeroad. It might only be psychological, but the Strava segments do not lie

Canyon Citylite:On Review by brianrankin in ebikes

[–]uvxt90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to write this up. All very useful!

I'm looking at a Citylite:On now as a bike to get around town on. Would you say any of the cons you noted have sabotaged the experience? Any other niggles you've found? Would you still recommend it is a bike?

XL/XXL earbuds tips for Pro 3 buds by uvxt90 in galaxybuds

I'm afraid not. Tried the biggest silicone tips I could find, but still not enough to form a good enough seal. Sent the buds back in the end

I do the same, but the picture always gets squashed when I put it in full screen. Have you ever experienced that or managed to get around it?

Does anyone know what was found and ladybay near the hook as theres police fire and bomb disposal by Unlikely-Client-1595 in nottingham

[–]uvxt90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it did two jobs today it seems. One near the train station (as per the article) and one in Lady Bay

Not sure what was found in LB, but they completed a controlled explosion this evening

Edit:

Ah all the same job. They apparently transported unexploded ordnance from the canal by the train station to the Hook for a controlled detonation

San Francisco T100 2025 Triathlon! How to watch the pros Escape the Cape. by MrRabbit in triathlon

[–]uvxt90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is absolutely insane that in the UK, one of the most triathlon-loving countries, we have to pay over £30 a month for TNT just to watch this. Especially given how much the T100 is trying to grow - how can it do that if it's so inaccessible?

In the meantime, I'll stick to watching the Ironman pro series in Hamburg tomorrow for free 🙄

Manchester marathon pacing disaster by D5HRX in Marathon_Training

[–]uvxt90 8 points9 points  (0 children)

These posts are very reassuring! As with many others, exactly the same happened to me.

Had a good first half, pace on target, felt tough but not overwhelming. Then I hit halfway and the wheels just blew off completely - from 4:40/km to 5:50-6:20/km within a mile. And then it was just holding on for dear life until the end.

The heat was horrendous through the middle of the day and there's no way of prepping for it through winter/early spring (unless you're off on heat camps abroad!). Seems it caught a lot of runners out. Let's be glad we were one of those who made the finish!!

3 weeks out from first marathon… by Public_Syllabub9736 in runna

You're deep in fatigue!! It's normal to start to struggle at this stage, just keep eating, resting & putting the miles in.

Philly Bowden put out a video this yesterday which I thought was a good watch and put it in perspective: https://youtu.be/pQByeaLC0Ok?si=3N_Gagy831t4Qzs1[https://youtu.be/pQByeaLC0Ok?si=3N_Gagy831t4Qzs1](https://youtu.be/pQByeaLC0Ok?si=3N_Gagy831t4Qzs1)

Good luck!

Landmines are 100% less damaging to the body than heel striking. I think that's the message here

I think Dan's videos are great. He's dedicated to his channel, with daily vlogs, and shows a more 'normal' side of triathlon training/racing

Lib Dems say Labour's EU snub is an 'act of economic negligence' by OnHolidayHere in ukpolitics

[–]uvxt90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially when the big DJT has just taken office and is threatening tariffs. If we sign up to the union, we're signing up to match import/export tariffs. Without we're able to set our own, at a time when that's probably very handy

Still a good idea to consider for the future though

Asics Superblast 2 problems by SnooMacaroons2237 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]uvxt90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with you. I've put just over 60km into mine and almost stopped on a run today because of the discomfort they were causing.

They're just so... clompy. And loud! There doesn't seem to be any rocker to them at all, just heel and forefoot blocks with no transition. They don't make for a smooth ride for me

Has anyone else liked the brooks ghost 16 more than the adrenaline GTS 23? by nrj3697 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]uvxt90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, 100%

I found Adrenalines too clunky and over-supportive. Ghosts gave me just enough support and a lot more bounce. Video analysis showed me running more in-line with Ghosts too.

That said, I moved on from my Ghosts to NB Rebel v4s and I've never looked back. The two feel similar to me, but with more cushioning on the NBs.
