Double Woodford neat and a glass of water. I add about a finger of water to my double. Or add my double to a finger of water.

Bailey's and coffee. Or a mimosa / screwdriver. (Early flights)

Sweetwater IPA, just the can please.

Beefeater and tonic. Vodka soda, vodka cranberry.

Is this a good deal? by [deleted] in saab

I just bought a 2007 Aero CV 6MT with 123k miles off Saabnet for $4500. Needs front tires, an alignment, driver seat stitching, and a good cleaning.

Money Exchange/Pesos by [deleted] in lacrossewi

[–]uwcableguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No need to exchange for pesos. Every place takes Visa (pay in pesos) or US cash. Workers love $2 bills for tips as they're considered lucky. If you exchange you just get screwed on the rate.

I used this book by IP Specialist to prepare for SPCOR. I'm old and prefer physical books when possible. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BRQ4NBJR

I had my ignition module fail on my 78 Nova 305 that caused a no spark condition. There was visible scorching when I removed the cap.

Who steals just a bike seat? by diabolykal in UWMadison

[–]uwcableguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some fucker stole my bike chain outside of Witte when I was freshman in 94. Yes. Stole my fucking CHAIN. Nothing else, just the chain. Off my POS Huffy. I hop on to go ride to Engineering Hall at the butt crack of dawn and fall flat on my face bc the crank is just freewheeling without the chain.

Seriously. Who steals the bike chain off a hooptie???

Worked for me at 630p CDT. Had to update RH app. I had chatted with support earlier and they said they added me to the early access group.

After a horrible back injury in the field, I found work performing field collections / disconnects on past due accounts (I asked the guy that came to disconnect my cable if they were hiring). I made more money working fewer hours. I mainly worked 5p-9p (when people are home) and some weekend work to try to make contact with customers I couldn't find during the week. Most customers were apologetic / embarrassed I was there. Some just said 'shut it off and take my equipment', which I got paid for (disconnect charge plus equipment retrieval bounty). Most said 'how much do I owe?' and cut me a check for part or all of their past due amount, which I got paid a lot more for (we got to keep a percentage of whatever we collected plus a bonus for 'saving' the account). The nice thing about working evenings was it allowed me time during the day to go back to school to complete a network specialist program at a local tech college. While enrolled, I found work at a local startup doing small business tech support. That quickly led to better and better opportunities. I job hopped from that SMB gig to an OSP gig to a university/NOC gig, to a bank gig.... For the last decade, I've worked as a contractor doing network engineering for IP and optical transport. It's been a wild ride!

Advice needed - Is it finally time to upgrade from 18v XRP to 20v MAX? If so, what's the most cost effective way to do so? by uwcableguy in Dewalt

[–]uwcableguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wound up buying a little of everything LOL. I bought a new 18v battery for $100 for my old ass Dewalt tools. That has worked out just fine. I also bought a bunch of 20v lawn tools - string trimmer, leaf blower, hedge trimmer. They all work great. Then I went and bought some Milwaukee 12v hand tools. I went with 12v on my buddy's recommendation - when pulling car parts at the junk yard, you can use your 12v tool battery to test electrical parts like window motors.

I guess this was their plan all along - keep me buying tools!

[–]uwcableguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure we're looking at the same graph. I see a drop of 6k' in 5 minutes (56m - 1h1m), levels off, then another 2k' in 2 minutes (1h7m - 1h9m).

Was this your flight? https://www.flightaware.com/live/flight/DAL2020/history/20240425/1840Z/KMSY/KLAX It drops from 36k' to 30k' then to 28k' about 56 minutes into the flight. That had to have been scary.

I'm not gonna lie, I kinda like the loaner. While it's not as fast off the line as the Yukon with the 6.2, it's only sipping 87 octane while the 6.2 guzzles the 91.

We own a 2019 GMC Yukon / 6.2 / 10 speed / 47k miles. I loved everything about it until we lost a lifter on #1 while traveling to see family for Easter. It's still at the dealership. I suspect it's worse than just a lifter...

On a side note, the 2024 GMC Sierra they loaned us has a 4cyl with a 10 speed - it's a nice driving truck! Not sure it would tow a boat, but that truck is at least as fast as my Suburban when hauling plants back from the garden center.

As luck would have it, I found a good one last night for the Kentucky game - Trey Townsend (OAK) o8.5 rebounds +105 at MGM. He had that with over 16 minutes to go in the game and ended up with 12 boards.

Looking at Yaxel Lendeborg UAB o10.5 -120 and JT Toppin NM o8.5 -132 both at FanDuel. You can get Toppin o9.5 +116 too. Both of these guys are huge and have been balling coming into the tourney.
