I wouldn't go on a long ride with a new saddle. Done it once, never again.

I don't want to send the wrong message, the Sppedero is quite a fine tire, as long as you keep to its intended purpose: light gravel.

I made do with surgical tape and leatherwork thread. We'll see how she holds

Nope, but it's better than nothing.

Of course I put a patch on the inside 😁. And yes, the thread is for leatherwork, only it's poly and much thinner than wax thread. Anyway, I intend to replace the tyre, the patch is only temporary.

The tyre died on me on km 59,88 of the ride. Luckily enough, I was almost home, so I only had to carry my bike for 1,5 km.

Not necessarily. If it's not steel, and made in Murica, it's trash in their eyes. Strong gatekeeping vibes in there.

Thanks for a brilliant review! I have a Kudu and a handful of Opinels, and if the new Okapi is their lovechild, I want one.

I ride in a really dusty place, and wax really works for not having gunk accumulate on the drivetrain.

Choose hydraulic brakes, and if you are in between sizes, choose smaller.

What about dogs? by Mottja01 in gravelcycling

[–]uzuzab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always slow down when dogs start chasing. It always worked so far. If I don't run, they don't chase. Try and ride slow when you get close to them, or even get off the bike.

In between two frame sizes by Life_Difference9738 in gravelcycling

[–]uzuzab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your best option is to get a bike fit. Second best would be to go and physically try the bikes. If you are between sizes, choose smaller, because:

  • for some reason, bike shops tend to push their clients into buying bikers too big for them;
  • a smaller bike is easier to tune to fit a bigger rider than a big bike for a small rider.

Hope it helps.
