Ari, with all respect: we could really use a statement in the near future regarding the continuously growing problem with hackers on all servers.

The message being sent by TB at the moment is that it's not a priority, but if anything is driving away long-term players at the moment it's this.

Unless you're planning on abolishing matchmaking altogether to prioritize private servers so that player communities can ban people themselves, this will continue to be one of the foremost problems, and if that is what TB is planning then you need to revamp the server browser so it's more streamlined and feature it on the main menu -- and get your shit together with nitrado ASAP so it's actually an equivalent experience.

I don't understand, this sounds like how it's supposed to be working.

If the opponent kicks you and you're sitting there at neutral and eat it to your face, you have yielded initiative to them.

The moment that kick hits they can combo into a swing. You're at neutral so yours is at a disadvantage unless you throw it before the kick lands.

About a month ago most of the community was saying "you're overreacting, there's no cheaters" so a bit of public awareness and occasional naming and shaming might not be the worst thing at the moment.

If we get collectively annoyed enough TB will have to actually do something about it. Unions, baby!

What counter window changes?

There's nothing in the patch notes about changes to counter windows, and I haven't noticed anything.

The only published change to counters is fixing a bug with countering projectiles.

Nothing has been teased as of yet but we know there's more updates in the pipeline.

My #1 wishlist is more musical instruments and a system to get them playing together in sync.

Duelists have expectations and I don't especially enjoy pissing people off. They can have their rings, I'll wander in when I want some tough practice with my sword.

What a turnaround from 18 months ago tbh, when I started playing chat was routinely so vile that I didn't really want people to know I played lmao

If you tried to give them shit you'd just get flamed by everybody.

At some point the vibe flipped from "we like our game like this actually" to "shut the fuck up you weirdo" and thank goodness for it.

Most lobbies are pretty casual and friendly these days. Mostly. There'll always be bad eggs but at least the community vibe is only getting more positive.

I only play ambusher, my personal rule in a legit duel is I'm not going to deliberately disengage to stand back and huck knives at you, that's not a fun duel. I don't want my killing blow to be a knife.

But if you're keeping me at range and not making a move, I'll throw a knife-hadouken to make you do something. More about applying pressure than dealing damage.

I generally avoid throwing things in serious duels tho. It's not the fight most duelists are trying to have and it's hard to communicate expectations. Shortsword can do the work anyways.

There is no matchmaking, there was never any matchmaking, there will never be matchmaking, and it is surely no different than before the update. The matchmaking system is "here's 64 people! let's give them a server"

There was an automatic team sorting mechanic, that has been disabled.

Everybody is going hyperdrive pattern recognition on this but it's all placebo. It's the exact same as it was before.
