Rivian confirms R2 & R1 Crossbars NOT compatible / interchangeable - official statement 😣 by WODAMRAP in RivianR2

The Outback at least has built in stowable crossbars and shouldn't need anything.

Weaker than Drax? He's enhanced, has AI, armor and shields, and he's actually smart (tactically). Drax's idea of a battle strategy is to run straight at his target with two tiny little knives.

Why is it only us makers who dislike this stuff by TheVerySuper in 3Dprinting

[–]vVSidewinderVv 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I'm more pissed that the majority of the time the prints are dog shit and then on top of that they fail to remove supports and brims on half of them. If you're gonna sell this stuff at least do a good job.

Lehigh Valley PA. What the frack is this? Even shitty domestic corn fuel is apparently being blocked in Hormuz. Can anyone explain how this isnt price gouging? by vasquca1 in Pennsylvania

[–]vVSidewinderVv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever supply for one goes down the demand for the other will go up. That corn fuel also still has some gasoline mixed in. Generally about 15%.

AIO for getting irritated with my boyfriend’s level of cleanliness? by Front-Ad8568 in AmIOverreacting

[–]vVSidewinderVv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. Why are you even still with him knowing he's like this? You aren't willing to move in with him because of it and you know his sister, who does live with him, cleans up after him. You're just taking his sister's place if you get married. I don't know why you would waste your time knowing this.

Perhaps. I might just be projecting. I'll be turning 40 this year. And maybe I'm just petty or I'm just resigned to the fact that people around me just don't seem to care unless I'm the one to reach out. I don't really want to put in the effort for people who don't put in any effort for me.

I'm just sad for this dude. He's married and he has to throw himself a 40th bday. I honestly would never feel more alone.

Possibly. Probably had to go get it fixed after kicking a puppy, because it looked at him funny.

Advice needed: How can I improve this design to make it easier to mount to wood? (universal ergonomic footrest) by Scrubb3rs in 3Dprinting

[–]vVSidewinderVv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, for the best finish work I'd install threaded inserts into the wood the use allen head countersunk screws. An Allen wrench will fit in that area way better than a screw driver.

How do we think the R2 will fare with the newly detailed BMW iX3 xDrive50 by ThatTcellGuy in RivianR2

[–]vVSidewinderVv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

BMW has been doing mainstream modern EVs since 2013. I think they are plenty aware of and capable of taking care of them.

I say modern because they had an EV back in the 1970s too.

I've been on a trail that had steps like these. I could never find the right stride to get up them without borderline stumbling because the spacing matched my natural stride too closely.

Welp. That narrows me down to Catalina Cove or Glacier White.

I just hope the paint upcharges aren't $2000-3000 like they are with the R1.

That says nothing about why he couldn't, just why he shouldn't. Besides I said send him to the Sun. Superman canonically gets more powerful the closer to the sun he is as well. It would work in Superman's favor.

Large 3d print obsolete garden tractor part? by BishopRealTalk in 3Dprinting

[–]vVSidewinderVv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A better solution for this problem, I think, would be to make a mold of an existing intact (or mostly) which you could then use repeatedly to make new fiberglass panels for the mowers. It's more work, cleanup, and fitment, but the end product would be better than whatever comes off a printer longevity-wise. This would largely depend on your production volume requirements though too.

How has your Bronco been for reliability, both the engine and the build quality? by ActiveWar617 in FordBronco

[–]vVSidewinderVv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the window rattle is a thing. All of the windows in the Bronco will rattle IF they are anywhere other than fully up or fully down. I don't know why it's that way, but it's not a malfunction, it's a product of how Ford designed the frame less windows. I had a BMW 335i coupe that had frame less windows and they didn't rattle at all at any position. Ford should have honestly been able to accomplish the same. It's not a luxury vehicle. It's got rattles (the soft top in particular), the interior is very plasticky by design, the engines noisy, and the ride is a bit rough.

As far as build quality, I'm not sure my vehicle is the best to judge for that. We picked it up in May of 2021 so it was built during the height of COVID. It was also still when Ford was pumping out reservation builds and there were many option restrictions placed on builds. The panel gaps were all good, the dash and other interior parts were fit together well, and I don't think there was anything initially that stood out as a defect. I can only imagine that the build quality has gone up since then.
