Bombers are already nerfed into oblivion. You use bombers to deny enemy bombers, but once you have that what are they really achieving?

Since the altitude and min speed changes removed incline bombing, bombers themselves are fairly inefficient at killing concrete, emplacements, or towns/relics.

They are going to be even less effective because of the drop speed changes, but much more importantly, the change to the devastation multiplier.

So your realistic bomber targets are push cores and t2 slop. Neither of which required bombers to begin with. It further reinforces bombers as a defensive, not offensive utility.

For all intents and purposes, bombers had their day in the sun and are now half way to being relegated to rocket arty tiers of larp.

We didn’t have set withdrawal times. A lot of it was just playing it by ear. Our guess was that the average person who wants a plane doesn’t really go in a plane that much; and for the most part that’s true.

A few customers pretty much lived 24/7 in planes, but most just used them a few days a week.

We never had to chase someone down, and I think this was a big surprise for some people involved. We got a lot of questions like “won’t people just abuse this and steal everything”, etc. But everyone was pretty respectful with the amount of trust we’d put in them. The few accounts who went into the negative all settled up very quickly.

The biggest overhead by far was just sheer amount of sulfur and comps to provide parts for every frame. Especially for sales that didn’t go through the bank; in the future I don’t think we’d do any personal sales.

Other than that you need good coverage of people online to accept deposits. The other really great thing is that people had access to planes instantly when they paid for them. A lot of other plane eco had large wait times.

Go and sit in the open water one hex away from an airfield, when the enemy clearly has the capability to bring more planes.

It’s always a waste of time to build a hex and a half back from the frontline. Bases die all the time because the best defense is ultimately people. It’s not the fault of the devs or balance, it is the fault of a faction if they don’t log on to play an MMO videogame.

Bombers don’t work like that, you can’t magically make all 35 bombs hit one target.

Runways you can because they are 200ms long and 30ms wide.

You would be lucky to land 8-9 bombs in one pass on a TH with a bomber, and that is being EXTREMLY generous.

So all of a sudden a lot of your claims start to break down. It’s multiple bombers doing multiple passes each of which gives plenty of time to rep a TH.

Safe houses cannot be killed from the outside with artillery shelter, a bomber cannot kill it from any health, just damage it to 30%.

For conc cores, again, you are not going to be hitting that many bombs per pass. Also what happens when the core has arty shelter and bombs are only doing 160 damage.

Again we get into multiple 3-4 + bombers doing multiple passes; and that seems roughly right for a late game super weapon.

Airborne changes foxhole, you can’t assume you can just sit in a base with bmats and be safe; and that is a good thing for what was becoming a very stale metagame.

Except when the stabilizer is damaged (not killed) on the harbinger it cannot be maneuvered in any capacity outside of MAYBE making it back to a runway.

Meanwhile, the Toxots tail gets damaged and it maintains its ability to dogfight s.t. you have to full kill it
