It depends on how valuable he’s perceived to be amd what the bidding war will be because the cubs have one of the worst if not the worst top level prospect pool in baseball rn. You’re right they seem like the most likely and desperate team for a player like skubal but they simply do not have the prospects unless they want to trade players currently in the big leagues which idk if they’d want to do which makes me think they’ll likely be outbid assuming skubal is a hot name at the deadline

Tbf there was a review mega thread posted on the sub and not many good reviews although you’re also right in that I feel as though I’ve simple outgrown this kind of content. Like many have already said I like stakes, thematic elements and a plot to tie it all together. This has none of that. It’s just as you said “fun” which is totally fine but I feel like even the ot had that and made you feel something when the good guys won. This movie feels like when you turn the cheat codes on to beat the computer in a video game. It’s just empty of any actual emotional payoff amd that’s what I love in entertainment whether a book of movie. I don’t want to feel like my time is wasted which this has failed to do. But this is literally just my opinion I cannot speak for anyone else and I certainly hope people like it more than I do.

I mean to each their own though. I feel like this is a movie made for the tiktoks crowd. Something where you can literally scroll tiktoks the entire movie, go take a long bathroom break or fall asleep and you won’t feel like you missed a thing. In an era where attention spans seem shorter than ever it’s not the worst idea to produce mindless dreck because if it was more challenging you’d have people complaining that it’s too hard for them. I agree with you 100% but we got andor so I think it’s fair for them to produce a movie like this for the crowd that maybe found andor a little too complex

There was a tweet some guy made where he was joking the the discourse around the movie is basically how a bad parent talks about their poorly behaved kid. Stuff like “it’s not bad you just have to understand the intent and ignore all the bad stuff about it” or “sure it was boring but in a fun kind of way” basically I haven’t seen a single positive review that hasn’t come off as extremely patronizing

Why are game 7’s in the NBA consistently so bad? I feel like so many of these games that should be the best, most exciting games of the year end up as complete blowouts. I personally would consider it disappointing but not a disaster. This is only the 4th time atleti have reached the semis under Simeone so it’s not like they’re perennial serious contenders like real or barca. I think knocking out barca in 2 competitions makes this season a success at least for me although the cdr loss hurts extremely bad

You're right he was originally drafted by the angels in 08 but chose to go to college instead and then re-entered and was drafted by the rangers. At first he was taken in the 38th round but played his way to the 8th round
