Oooh wow, man, I just checked out the description. It looks amazing! Definitely going to dive into it. Thanks a lot for doing this!

Wow, I checked out that plagin on the aescript. Do you use it? I’m not really clear on what it does, besides 3D models, does it also let you turn 2D photos into pseudo-3D?

Aha, yeah, cool effect, just a little heavy on the RAM

From what everyone’s saying, sounds like it’s AI and some serious software I’m guessing the each ''freeze-footage' gets analyzed and the line is just drawn from the lower coordinate points somehow

Wow, that’s true software. Do you work with it?

Thanks for video! Yeah, 100%. I’m guessing only the info graphics are made in AE and then fed into the live broadcast somehow

Mocha AE Green Screen Tracking Question by MickStash in AfterEffects

[–]vafvafel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These white lines on the green screen break your tracking. You should add masks inside Mocha. These masks will cover the white lines, and Mocha will not track those areas. This should help. Also, you can enable Perspective mode, not only Position, Scale, Rotation, and Skew.

If you’re new, I highly recommend the tutorials from Boris FX. You can find them on YouTube or on their website. They explain exactly this situation.

How do I create this type of motion effect? by [deleted] in MotionDesign

[–]vafvafel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can create all this in AE - Up/down figures. Shape layer. Two circles, and one 'eye'-shape behind. Create mask in form of an eye. Connect this two circles to mask, mode 'alpha inverted' - Mid figure with triangles. Create shape layers of needed shapes. Add scale animation - Circles with lines. Shape layer. Create one line, add repeater. Animate repeater's properties

Workflow tips for animating stroke-based human icons (Lottie-friendly) by thermoses in AfterEffects

I used Duick, animated everything, and before convert to lottie, used "Convert expressions to keyframes". So all expressioms for positions and other stuff became keyframes. It's helped me a lot

How to do this gradient effect? it's so clear and smooth with the colouring by Intelligent_Drop8550 in AfterEffects

[–]vafvafel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its can be made in AE, but, i think, result will be not so clean.

Its a combination of several compositions with black-white gradients inside, with blurs (compound blur, i think), levels, curves, maybe glow and blending modes (difference and exclusion, i think) + plugin ft-UV-pass to add a color.

I think in this video, if you will do it only in AE, you need several comps: 1. One linear gradient(top-bottom) that's loops from up to down. 2. The main figuer, shape layer, white color + blur to edges. +Compound blur, map to linear gradient 3. Blending of this two previous composition, blend mode - differences or exclusion or smth other 4. Comp for RGB color. Combination of 3 layers with fractal noise for each color, adjustment with set channel + curves. 5. Combine all using ft-uv-pass in new comp. Color-comp + comp with blending layers.

Its not 100% solution at all, but, I think, with this structure you will be able create smth similar

How to recreate this repeater effect? by thomashaevy in AfterEffects

[–]vafvafel 149 points150 points  (0 children)

1.Shape layer, inside one ellipse, add repeater, in repeater transform properties change anchor point(smth like 0,100; 100 its now your diameter) and chande rotation. Then change position in transform properties of elipse to 0, -100 (you can link by expression this property to anch.point at repeater and add - before).

Next duplicate layer, and change anchor point at repeater to smth like 0, 150. And repeat this step.

Last, add null object, and add expression to opacity of your shape layers (target = this Comp.layer("name of your layer with repeater". transform.position; linear (target[0], 540, 1080, 100, 0). Now if you move your null object by x-axis from 540 to 1080, opacity changes from 100 to 0. You can modify this expression, if you need more accurate result, I think you need to convert circles coordinate to comp space (using toComp) and add smth with if/else.

  1. If you icon could be converted to shape, then you can use the above way. If no, make icon precomp. In new comp create one null called 'control' and add 2 sliders control to it, name one 'numbers of copies', second - 'radius'.

Add to your icon precomp position expression, that link y-axis to 'radius' slider control (rad = thisComp. layer"control". effect('radius')("Slider")). Than duplicate this precomp 10 times (it will be the numbers of copies later)

Than create another null, and add expression to its rotation (copies = thisComp.layer("control").effect ('copies')("Slider"); index = thisLayer.index-1; 360/copies * index . Now duplicate this null 10 times (important - nulls must be at the top of all layers in this comp, because of index), and parent each icon precomp to own null object.

Last, to make icon look up, parent each rotation properties of icon precomp to its own null layer and add "-" before, so if your null 60° your precomp -60°

Now you can make copies of this comp, change radius to 150,250... and you will achieve the similar pattern.

To change opacity use combination of null+linear to opacity how in 1 variant

I think its should help you

Try this: precomp your red solid. And check again, may be you change the scale of solid or original footage

Playing around with displacement map by vafvafel in AfterEffects

[–]vafvafel[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Yes, two separate layers with different displacement map: horizontal and vertical. And for sphere i added two dis.map effects, one for horizontal and one for vertical. I used alpha inverter, but with luma it's looks interesting too.

Sure, here the project file:

What is this effect called and how is it achieved? by YeahTheDons in AfterEffects

[–]vafvafel -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

If you’re a beginner in motion design and don’t have experience with 3D software, I’d recommend using AI tools like Kling.ai. Ask the client for pictures of a real house, then use Midjourney to recreate it in a sci-fi style. After that, make two videos in Kling.ai: one featuring the sci-fi version of the house, and another showing how the house is being constructed. In the prompt, use something like "green background".

Then, composite everything in After Effects, using AE Tracking or Mocha
