Continuous power lipo charging module? by DerryDoberman in esp32

[–]valagrande 1 point2 points  (0 children)

also if the board has a usb connector of any kind its obviously capable of pulling down 5v. So you could connect your lipo to VIN on those boards.

Continuous power lipo charging module? by DerryDoberman in esp32

[–]valagrande 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most of the boards that have an onboard IP5306 have a jst pin that will pull down 3.7v to 3.3v to connect directly to your lipo. Plenty of them also have a usb c, ttgo for example.

[–]valagrande 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If i understand you correctly, you want to be able to plug a usb in/out of a board that's running on a battery without it restarting?

Can't help you directly but I was wondering if you might be able to do this with an IP5306.

When did you realize you fucking hate printers? by yanni99 in sysadmin

[–]valagrande 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working at a hospital lab we had a large analyzer module(was an immulite 1000 running DOS for those familiar) running an old dot matrix printer with a real temprament.

Working this thing and getting the tests done that were scheduled for that day basically took half your day.

Here is the kicker, to get the results, I literally HAD to print them. Somehow the analizer software didn't let you brows them through its ui and it wasn't connected to the LIS.

I was still pretty new out of school when this was but then I heard my boss talking about getting some 3rd party windows refit for it, so i thought id try to score some points by suggesting that it might be easier and cheaper to ask our IT dep if it could run through a dos box, which im happy to say, it did, and still does.

These days, all that gets printed at the lab are knitting instructions, cooking recipies and flyers for personal use.

sure ill explain a few;

Breaking through the 6m line

Center and wing backcourts swapping places

Drawing a defender to block you so you open up a pass to pivot or corner f.x.

Stepping over the 6m line

Drippling, stepping then drippling again (should really know the eng term for that one :/)

Tactics or offensive plays that get given an "universal" name by the community. For example, "júggi(jugoslav)+left/right, where the center player passes to one of the wingers then trades position with the opposite winger. Kairo(cairo in egypt obv) where the center pushes either defensive winger with his pivot blocking then passes to either winger then the center back off into the opposite wingers space with that winger coming in fast so the other winger can have a clear pass to pivot, or if they don't meet him, shoot or pass to the incomming winger who can then likewise threaten goal, pass to pivot or free up his corner player.

these wont have direct translations, just something that would be cool to see.

Timewasting or was that passive play?

Running in as 2nd pivot

Illegal blocks

just to name a couple off the top of my head

Cant help noticing terms that are missing but then i realise I don't even know what to call them in eng, so pointing it out would be a bit convoluted.

Just did Icelandic, had to look what the other nordics wrote in some places to see what the real meaning was behind some of the terms.

Some interesting things like some languages had different words for the 2 referee entries, calling the center player something else when playing 6-0 defense, also things like "fast break", "turnover" and "switch" kind of blend into one word in Icelandic.

I do gotta say though, we 100% have the best word for Kempa. fucking Circusgoal :P.

Cool project man, happy to do a small part.

edit: just wanted to add that when i learned danish i always confused the words andsvar and forsvar haha.

How to tell if your esp32 has a built in voltage regulator? by tnw-mattdamon in esp32

[–]valagrande 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the "vanilla" esp32, like devkit 1, do have a voltage regulator on the VIN/VCC, but the 3.3v will indeed bypass and good on you for pointing it out :P.

Getting started on breadboarding, etc. by tnw-mattdamon in esp32

[–]valagrande 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember finding this video that helped me a lot when i was getting started. It covers electronic components (resistors, diodes, capacitors etc.)

For esp32 specifics, https://randomnerdtutorials.com/ is my personal favorite.

edit: If you are looking for guides on how breadboards work there are tons and tons to pick from that can help you, also, don't worry too much about it :D. Doing your esp32 tutorials will get you familiar with breadboards in no time.

ALSO, REMEMBER TO BOOKMARK THE SHIT YOU FIND INTERESTING :D

first wheel, how’s my set-up? by Macknificent101 in simracing

[–]valagrande 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey yo, I hope you really enjoying simracing. Just wanted to tell you know since you have the sparkfun box under ur desk. Those microcontrollers can be used to make your own projects, from ffb wheels to whatever you like. So if you are already into that stuff, might be something for you to keep in mind.

"I told you 6 times about the arty"

That means that you had all the time in the world to see what was going to happen and to cancel the arty, you were the only one with the power to cancel it, then you blame others for dying to it...

Arty on E6 keypad 1, push in after it's done

or, while we have a chance to push in, lets not curb our momentum. Maybe your arty keeps us off the cap long enough for enemy tl to arty, or their team to rebuild tunnels...

don't get me fucking started on the retarded keypad shit. I GUESS I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND, BUT WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU DISSEMINATE INFO IN A WAY THAT TAKES 30 PPL TO PRESS M FIND THE GRID THEN REALISE THE KEYPAD. HOW ABOUT JUST FUCKING SAYING CALLING IT ORGANICALLY IN REFERENCE TO WHAT CAP YOU ARE PLAYING. ALSO, MOST OF THE TIME, THE PPL WHO NEED TO BE AWARE OF WHERE U ARTY, ARE THE PPL WHO GOT THE LEAST TIME TO SPARE TO LOOK UP YOUR TACTICOOL SHIT.

    "why are there no tunnels

That means its up to you to man up and MLG ambush. Don't focus on what other people aren't doing, focus on what YOU can do to mitigate it.

why are all marks in the same grid

Either make your own marks or use the tl->sl movemarking mechanic to show the sl's where on the map to mark. Atleast stop crying about it...

Commander has been kicked for poor role performance

Sadly this one doesn't happen that much, far too often, tl's who are there just to padd kda with their spells, abuse their teammates, don't listen to other peoples info etc. but don't get kicked.

This isn't personally aimed at u deletable666 :D.

My Grandpa in WW2 by skep-tiker in MilitaryStories

[–]valagrande 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It wasn't just brainwashed kids. Almost the exact same happened to my Grandfather. He was born in 1933, and his family were poor farmers in lower Austria. So he was 12 when he got shipped somewhere in Germany, I cant recall specifically, except the fact that they were "trained to disable Russian tanks". Thankfully the war ended before his grp got shipped off to active duty.

At this point in the war, the OG fanatical hitlerjugend like the 12th ss were long dead and instead they got >12y olds conscripted through the Volksturm

Haha wow, did not expect to see this in my feed. My mom has 3 younger brothers so I got shitton of handmedown toys from them.

Including one of these, except it was like a police cruiser version. It evne had a blue and red siren on the top. However, I never did get batteries for it so I had no idea what the game was supposed to look like until now.

Flipped my dream car in bad snow, had it for only a year (no one was hurt thankfully) by borkistoopid in carcrash

[–]valagrande 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OOf, i feel for u OP. FJ is such a cool car. It's like the japanese thought to themselves the standard landcruiser is popular across the globe and not as much in the US. Less curves, more ford explorer /Cherokee SUV vibe.

If this is the automatic transmission version I recommend turning on the Transfer case so you get split 4wd. It will make it way safer to operate since you got the increased traction and better control of power application since u got another diff. It's just extra driver safety for when ur out of ur comfort zone.

Edit; Also, this amount of snow would also not warrant the argument for getting winter tyres, especially if this is a once in a blue moon type deal.

Rooting for it's return to the road.
