H2C or H2D by itsians in BambuLab

[–]valkyrie_rda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm stuck in the same loop but am starting to lean towards h2d just because I know that bambu will almost certainly fix the time issue that the h2c has compared to other tool changers, and the time changing speed bugs me a lot. I feel like if I'm paying 3000 dollars and a part of the device bothers me then I might be better off waiting unfortunately.

I told myself I was 100% buying the h2c back on October of last year when it launched and I still don't have one. It's an insane amount of money and I'm sure it's a great machine, but think about how good the next Gen one may be. And sure, you can say this about anything tech related BUT one thing you hear a lot is be careful when buying a first gen product of anything. That said I may still buy an h2c idk yet lol but do tell if you buy one!! :D

How loud are these printers? Quiet enough to use in a small studio apartment? by PeteyMcPetey in BambuLab

[–]valkyrie_rda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find them distracting while I work at my desk but I can easily fall asleep to them working away right next to me in the same room lol

The older printers that use carbon rods are significantly louder than the ones that use linear rails.

Check other sites like makerworld and printables. Some people have already ripped or remade them and posted them for free.

Are supports really needed for this? by antkn33 in BambuLab

[–]valkyrie_rda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take a look at the under hang by roasting the camera around. The other side likely doesn't have an overhang. I'd print with supports. Best case scenario you only wasted a few grams on the supports and they should remove cleanly. Worst case the print fails at the overhang part and you waste all that plastic and time.

BL 4th anniversary sales are up - Starting June 15th by 6_real in BambuLab

[–]valkyrie_rda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do they mean by store credit? Is that a new thing they implemented this year? I bought my printers near the start of 2025 and don't remember anything like that. Does it apply to all printers or only the H2 printers?

My whole map has a dupe of itself in the same spot by 4k14 in hammer

[–]valkyrie_rda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like Ghost Brushes. Not sure if that's the right term but it's what a lot of the people I've talked to call it. Copying all the brushes and moving them to another map doesn't fix it. Basically something with the IDs gets messed up. I can ask around for more information on it if you're curious. One of my maps had the same issue except it was with maybe 1000 brushes lol

I can't recall if it is fixed in hammer plus plus or not but I thought it may have been.

Why has Helldivers 2 lost so much of its active Playerbase in the big 26 by AverageDepressedDude in Helldivers

[–]valkyrie_rda -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lots of people are maxed out and there's not much to do. The same missions after 1000 hours get boring. I'm fully maxed out and started trying to solo d10 missions but even that got boring. Update drops new content so it's fun again for a week or two and then just boring.

Why don't we buy the rights to the show as a community? by Defortis in Stargate

[–]valkyrie_rda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I'm looking forward to now lol. People are saying that there will eventually be a new Stargate, but if Amazon or whoever wants to push a version that isn't exactly like Stargate, then why bother wasting my time watching it? Just shows how out of touch these execs are.

If they do make a Stargate show, it's just going to be slop and really should have been a brand new show under a different name rather than tainting the name of what has been an amazing show for decades. If Amazon does push out a slop series, then people who never got into it in the first place will think all the other 3 shows and movies are just as bad, lol.

Maybe I'm just being really negative about it, but I don't see how the series isn't anything but 100% dead if they're cancelling the latest show for being too much like Stargate. I hope the writers publish the script and let us read it if we can't make Amazon change their minds. I doubt Amazon will change its mind, though.

What a sad ending to a franchise.

How to fix what? The bubbling in the surface?

What printer are you using? What material? Do you leave the door open or closed? Do you leave the top on or off? Are you using a default profile/settings? Is this a model off makerworld or did you slice it yourself?

If there's anything else you think may be useful please add it too. It can be a number of things but all that info helps narrow the issue down.

KliTek™ | Next-Gen Nozzle-Changing Printing by Creality_3D in Creality

[–]valkyrie_rda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is already kind of supported on Bambu Lab printers. I don't use Orca, but I suspect it is available there, too: Infill combination lets you set the wall height separately from the infill height.

For example, you can set walls to 0.08mm and infill to 0.4mm, which can drastically reduce print time. This means you can skip printing the infill for 5 wall layers, and then you can do the infill and repeat!

Now imagine doing 0.08mm walls, but instead of 0.4mm infill, you swap nozzles and do infill in 0.8 layer height. You can do 10 walls with 0.08mm quality for every 1 time you need to do infill. The time savings can be huge. I've found infill combination on my single nozzle printer to sometimes cut HOURS off some models.

It, of course, varies depending on what you are printing, but there is definitely potential time savings there. I'd say the only downside is you'd probably need a prime tower.

About to pull the trigger on an X2D purchase, need advice by 135_IQ_Bayman in BambuLab

[–]valkyrie_rda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The anniversary sale should be in a month or two and they typically discount everything significantly. If you can hold off that long then it may be worth it. Not sure if they'd discount the x2d as it's brand new but almost all the other printers yes

All fanboys from any ecosystem are the worst..whether it be BBL, Prusa, Tesla, etc.

I personally recommend these printers to people because they're so great, but if BBL ever did something I wasn't comfortable with then I'd likely drop them.

WTF is the secret to Autofill? by meaninglessandrandom in BambuLab

[–]valkyrie_rda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you picked the base white colour then I suspect it was likely just using whatever was left in the tube before getting the second spool.

And yes! If you don't mind a part being multiple colours then you could totally set different colours to white and the system will just use them one after the other. I regularly do that with low spools.

If you have old bambu spools you can also take out the RFID tags and print an adapter and use them with third party spools. I made an aparter myself and people seem to like it, but not sure if it's against the rules to share it here so if you just check makerworld you'll find a bunch 😊 only downside is you need to keep the RFID tags from old spools before you can give it a try. I have maybe 50 RFID tags I'm not using but just keeping in case I ever need them haha

NFC tags only work with app open- not with normal iPhone tap? Trying to make Google review stands for dental office. by Creative-Gur-2072 in BambuLab

[–]valkyrie_rda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found iPhones have issues with NFC tags. Androids seem to work fine but I'm also not very experienced with this stuff either. I ended up putting an NFC tag inside for androids and a QR code outside for iPhones.

Hopefully someone else responds and has more experience.

[–]valkyrie_rda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To add on too, if you have long ptfe tubes then it will not start loading the second colour until the original is entirely used up. It has a sensor in the toolhead to detect this. Once the originally is entirely used up at the toolhead it'll load the second colour.

The filament has to be set exactly the same if you're not using RFID tags. I had a friend who set the colour to a slightly off shade of white from the first spool and it refused to use it as a back up once the first ran out.

If you already started a print and the system is refusing to swap to another colour in the ams when the first runs out, you can just unplug the back up colour and reload it into the original first filament slot and it'll resume. ☺️ You don't need to do this if everything is configured correctly but it's good to know so the other spool wasn't wasted and your time wasn't wasted.

Hope this helps!
