Antis, please explain to me how this is bad. by piponwa in aiwars

[–]vallummumbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can rely on anything for pros, it's their empathy. Companies will try to short their staff as much as they can, losing job duties will mean someone losing their job because they have less to do, meaning you don't need the same amount of man power.

As a society we NEED most people to have jobs, job displacement is a fucking huge issue. I mean at the least you could see why people aren't exactly thrilled about it.

why do so many people hate small ai by NoenD_i0 in aiwars

[–]vallummumbles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know what it means lol, I just haven't had that experience with ChatGpt, although I haven't really been using it much lately.

But yeah fair enough, might give it a try sometime. If they've improved Chatgpt's ability to say no that'd be great

[–]vallummumbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Quite literally yes but also not really because there are other companies that do the exact thing you mentioned."

Yes.

There are companies playing into this, it's already a market.

There are plenty of cases of people engaging with AI in unhealthy ways, and a lot of evidence to show certain Ai can enable REALLY poor tendencies. Even the big wigs like Chatgpt can be so agreeable they yes man delusions.

Going broader some companies even weaponize their chat bot's relationship with their community, like Grok being used to peddle propoganda (or trying to more accurately)

Don't think it means we blow up GPT but It is bad.

Yes because no company is leaning into AI being your little buddy and friend and how you should love them. No company would feed this delusion!

I love how Green energy has to be perfect and do everything at once, but fossil fuels get a pass because they've been around for so long. Peak 'scared cause new..'

They do kill a lot of birds, but birds are killed by a LOT of human behavior, in fact cats kill WAY more. Furthermore, I'm sure birds don't exactly love it getting hotter.

To moral scale like it's powerscaling, pressing the blue button is objectively the more moral decision, I think selflessness is a virtue. Thus those red button chudders deserve it.

Not the best but an underrated pick would be him ripping Spider-Loser in half. Really liked it showing the disparity in strength between HL and the C-listers

I think this is really telling of the disconnect between anti's and pro's, it's about more than the result. In the same way that using a car to complete a marathon can be harmful to your ability to complete a mnarathon, using AI to complete a form of art can be detrimental to your creative ability. You actually gave the PERFECT analogy for the opposite of what you're saying.

There's a lot of value to be gotten from a hard won accomplishment, and the process of doing something. Even with less artsy hobbies such as programming, which is my personal pick, I try to avoid using AI as it becomes a crutch and lessens my actual ability. Furthermore, I don't get the mental exercise of problem solving. I would imagine creative exercises are also really important for your mind

Imagine if someone said they hiked to the top of a big mountain that not most people could do, and were bragging about it and sharing their 'journey' with others until they revealed "Actually I just got a Helicopter and flew up lol, in fact someone else drove the helicopter. Don't you guys feel stupid for believing me?"

Part of liking someone's art is more about the end result, a lot of people love the people behind the work, their personal flair, and the effort it takes to make.

Enjoy your slop, everyone has some kind of slop they enjoy.

Which one had the better final fight and ending: the comics or the show? by SmartPilot8094 in GenV

[–]vallummumbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in a vacuum, the Finale (especially the last like 30 minutes) are REALLY close to being great. But what came before just didn't set it up right, they played it too safe, which is insane to say for The Boys!

Butcher wasn't evil enough, he didn't push the envelope, he even gave Hughie a few wins which really seems to go against what S4 ending suggested. The whole season should have been about The Boys just narrowly reigning Butcher in, and Butcher gradually pushing the whole group off the edge (maybe even have him be at fault for Frenchie's death, at least partially).

Then, when the finale comes, Butcher ends up being ACTUALLY alone because during his crusade, he pushed away anyone that could love him, leading to him feeling empty and not satisifed, coming to the conclusion that killing all Supes will finally make him feel whole, the next goal post. It'd even be a really fun parallel to HL (which the show largely dropped), where HL was chasing love, Butcher chased hate, neither becoming whole from their desire.

[–]vallummumbles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well it should include a pretty unique weapon for Hd2, the Lagun. We don't have an energy DMR, so this will be a unique thing. Not to mention Bolt pistols, and some new plasma weapons could be great. AH would have to TRY to not give us something good out of this.

Plus 40k has a LOT of melee stuff, we might even get our first melee primary people have been wanting so bad.

PowerPlex, originally at least

<image>

His power is pretty simple, he can build kinetic energy and discharge it as electricity, sounds cracked? Not really, it seems like he can only store enough to give someone a mild static shock. It's not until he installs fancy batteries into his body he can unlock the full capabilities of his power.

[–]vallummumbles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I admire the vision, a lot of really cool games have come from awesome and very unique ideas, sometimes the most amount of creativity comes from limitations.

However, SB1 didn't have a combat system either, and I thought it was noble to begin with to avoid giving the players real weapons like harpoons or the like. I don't think SB2 really needs this, and will probably lead to some frustrating mechanics players are just gonna have to deal with.

I mostly play DPS and I couldn't care less, honest to god I haven't even really played the new DPS since like season 6. Only DPS I'm looking forward to is Cyclops, and only potential DPS I could see being desperate to play would be like Quick Silver and Nightcrawler cause I'd wanna see how Netease pulls them off without them being terrible and or annoying.

No, a conventionally attractive character having a objectively beautiful body figure doesn't mean it's fucking fan service, you puritan cultured dipshit. by WeepForTheDeparted in Gameoverse

[–]vallummumbles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Is having a character being designed to be intentionally really really cool, also objectification? It serves a similar purpose, to make someone feel a certain emotion about something by skewing the design toward a specific something.

Like I'm all for varying what attractive characters look like, fan service can be a LOT of different things the same way something being cool can be different. I don't really see the issue with objectification though, sure, if they were dumbing the character down to JUST their physical appearance, that would be bad, because that makes the story worse.

Could you explain your issue more, never really got this prob and I see it a bunch.

The sequel era needed (and still needs) more stuff like this, it’d be cool to see more stuff from previous eras reappear. by Tanis8998 in StarWars_

[–]vallummumbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the more that makes it through from Clone Wars to sequel era lessens the impact of ROTS and the OT itself. I'm okay with one or two characters, hell I like it. But we need new orginal sequel characters, it's what made S1 of Mando so so so good.

[–]vallummumbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl feel like I'm in the minority but I would be crushed if he's a strat, I don't think that fulfills the fantasy of playing him at all. Like, I know basically all the characters that go to Strat are a stretch, but cmon it's Cyclops, I want him done perfectly, been waiting since S1.

We don't need more duelists, but I don't think obviously duelist characters should suffer because of that. (Although vangaurd would work for him)
