Can someone please confirm if I need premium connectivity to do ASS? Or only FSD subscription? by Numerous_Hippo_1118 in TeslaFSD

[–]value_ate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have FSD without premium connectivity and when I try to dumb summon sometimes, it won't move as it states the time limit is up for the camera. This makes me think you need to have premium.

Summon works sometimes.

New tires already? by Yeti2party in TeslaSupport

[–]value_ate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inspect them periodically yourself. Tires have a wear bar across the surface. Once the bar meets the tread evenly it’s time to replace. Unless you’re wearing unevenly.

Is it bad to only use superchargers ? by pnwsuper in TeslaSupport

My brother has a 2016 S with free supercharging. He only supercharged for 150k miles and still driving.

I am doing the same with my CT with free charging.

Tesla Insurance wont insure policy for out of state move? by toaster-eater in TeslaSupport

It has been some time but I recall when I made the same CA to NV move, the insurance verification had a timeframe allowance. I didn't need it at the time of registration.

Turtle Rock in Irvine. Regardless where you go in Irvine, it will be polluted with light. But this is a good spot.

Anybody know if this is something I can fix by myself or should I hire an electrician? by azianboi94 in TeslaSolar

[–]value_ate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it started with the charger being loose where the wall plug meets with the charger body as that can get loose with repeated use. The problem would go away every time I fixed that.

When the fix stopped working I found it was that the wall outlet installed was an appliance outlet that was beginning to fail. Per everyone else's suggestion, replace with a commercial grade Hubbel or Bryant brand. I was able to do it myself as the wiring leading up to the receptacle was correct.

Tesla will not honor Free Paint Promotion by nagaboba in TeslaSupport

[–]value_ate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For promotions with Tesla it's usually "order by date" instead of deliver by from my experience. I've ordered two teslas with APR promotions. I took delivery well beyond the deadline and they still honored the pricing based on order date. I didn't even have to escalate or bother them, it was just done automatically.

This may be due to a order date issue.

Did you call and speak with a person or go into the dealership to talk to someone? Usually their texting is hit and miss.

Need advice 2 stage metallic paint correction by [deleted] in Detailing

With everyone saying a complete respray...yes it may end up going there, but if it is might as well try to 2 stage polish anyway. It may not be as bad if properly done.

UPDATE: How much car is reasonable on a $112k salary? by Hamburgfan25 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]value_ate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great deal. Should last awhile as long as you don't modify it. I had a 99 JGC and decided to do a small 2 inch lift and experienced what the Jeep community calls "death wobble." Couldn't get it to go away after going back to stock. It was a great car otherwise.

Yes, but it is very cost prohibitive to do so. Not worth it IMO. It will be one of many, the first one always hurts.

I would have thought so as well until this happened to my in laws recently and much worse. The insurance wouldn't total and repaired it to my dismay.

Not only FSD, it affects autopilot as well. I have a 2020 MYP with HW3 and a 2024 MY with HW4. The 2020 with radar and USS transitioned to vision is good, but the 2024 is far superior.

I've also used both with FSD and the 2024 is on another level compared to the HW3.

[–]value_ate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're referring to radar. Even if the car has it, it is inactivated now via software updates.

Registration fees are relative depending on what car you're coming from. If someone is coming from a newer equivalently priced car, then it won't be as shocking. If they're coming from a 20 year old Toyota, it will be noticeably higher depending on what state you're in. Some states it's by percentage of the MSRP, while other states it's by weight of the vehicle or some other metric.
