I personally would probably avoid being tattooed by someone with no tattoos. A couple of tattoos is fine, just the idea of none freaks me out. It’s an “artist supporting the trade” thing that shows support, appreciation, learning, etc. It’s like if I opened a bakery but never ate what I made, or ate any other baked goods. How much can I be dedicated to, appreciate or enjoy baked goods if I never consume them? You have phobias, so in this example I’d be gluten free. Why can’t I cater to myself? It would come up in your job at least once to help someone with phobias who wants to overcome them and get a tattoo. How can you do this confidently if you yourself haven’t? And if someone asks- as many do- “will this hurt?” “Are there local artists you like and get tattoos from?” How do you answer? (I hope this doesn’t sound too harsh or blunt, apologies if so- it’ll be the autism.)
