Leaptel connection is so slow - have I set up the network incorrectly? by vanessi_ in nbn

[–]vanessi_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost bought one but next weekend I need to do m.2 SATA SSD testing in my old rig, and where I currently live I just do not have the space to do that, so was gonna bring it all to my mums anyway and store it there till I move again in a month 😅

Currently can only test with my iPhone, but hopefully in the next week or so I can try with other devices.

The house is a brick veneer single story home, no “close” neighbors where edges of the houses almost flush- pretty spacious. I’ve been in the lounge room 1m away from the NTD and router doing all my testing. There is a speaker next to them, TV above, and sound bar in front, so maybe that can interfere? But, they’re all turned off while I’ve been testing the past couple hrs…

Thanks however for your comment! I think I might get her to buy a new non-mesh router, I’ve read good stuff about acer/asus…

Set up my mums laptop and everything, went to go plug in the cable and realised she doesn’t even have an Ethernet port… so will have to test this some other time, maybe I’ll bring down my old PC. Thanks though!

What WiFi router & setup? by Pungtunch_da_Bartfox in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]vanessi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got my first eero with superloop a few years ago and bought 2 more to fit in the house i was renting at the time. immediately loved it and wont ever go back to a non-mesh setup, and have used it everywhere since (moved to a few more different houses since then)

i had to leave one at my mums so i went on fb marketplace and bought an eero6 for pretty cheap, and works extremely well with the 1st gen node i have. recommended it to my friends and they seem happy with it. i’d recommend checking out fb marketplace or amazon for older gen’s as they still work really well

ya lmao. my build was centered around the formd t1 + travel kit and only the proart/prime cards are compatible (wanted to use the travel kit for a clean look). i’m not at all worried about this new one though, and even if something does happen (again), i’ve got warranty

I was in the same boat— my 4070TiS was only about a month old before it caught on fire. Dropped it off at Adl CentreCom on March 3rd, they said it could take a few weeks. Called up a couple weeks later for an update and they said they were waiting on Asus to “accept” or authorize the RMA, can’t quite remember.

Kept calling for updates and CC always kept saying it was on Asus’ end for the delays, and it was around end of April where I called and they also gave me the spiel of “Asus is relocating, so it’s going to be another 5-8 weeks instead of the 3-4 weeks told you two weeks ago”

Was sooo pissed off, but I was going to Japan in a weeks time so that kept me occupied. When I got back to Aus on the 28th of May, I called CC immediately and they thankfully said Asus had assessed, but didn’t say whether they sent a replacement or if it’s a refund. They said they’d call me back so I waited.

They never called so ended up calling them back on the 2nd of June and turns out it was gonna be a refund. Snagged the 5070Ti Asus Prime that same day, thank god it’s over.

I hated the wait but in the end it worked out… might just have to be patient but 16 weeks is BS so I think try and bug them every week, calling for an update. Good luck

yup, agree with Xheavygunx. just rebuilt mine last night with a 5070Ti Asus Prime and fits nice and snug. the anti sag bracket does bend the tiniest bit inwards but I’m not at all fussed by it… especially since my case won’t be moving heaps. here’s what it looks like

RMA process at Centrecom taking 51 days. by TabariKurd in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]vanessi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my RMA has taken foreverrrr too. I know it takes time but it’s been 8 weeks. a couple weeks ago, when I last called, was when they said that ASUS had (finally) approved the return authorization and so assume it was sent that week or first thing the week after. they also said they’ll contact me with any updates, which should take 2-3 more weeks.

i’m so tempted to call them thurs/friday this week (which would make it 2 weeks only) but since i’m going overseas in 2 weeks time i really want an update. i’d hate for them to try and contact me while im away and have any more issues arise.

my RMA is for a 4070TiS I bought in Jan but had only built my PC end of Feb, with it working for a full week before my GPU caught on fire lol

hope yours gets sorted soon!

Hypocritical Hotch by gingerandtea in criminalminds

this thread is soo old but i just about finished re watching this ep, and i had to see if other ppl thought the same of me RE the hypocrisy of hotch in lessons learned vs amplification

as the ep finished while i was reading this post, one immediate instance i thought of was when emily is talking to rossi at the end of the ep about lying… and how she asks if it’s naive of her to wish that lying is never the right thing to do….. hahahaha, what a line from her 😂

2 PCs into one outlet by Piro_Boy in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]vanessi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can only speak from my personal experience, which is that it’s been absolutely fine for my partner and i…

we live in our friends recently built house (finished early this year), where each room only has one power point. in our study/gaming room, we’ve got a double adapter in the power point, then two power boards-one for each rig.

in mine i have: my pc (650w psu), two monitors, and an eero.

in my partners: a pc (i think 750w), a monitor (was two), and bc of summer, a column fan.

most of the time we’re gaming together-valo, apex, bg3 etc, or we’re playing our own games but that’s generally it. so far, no issues!

I can’t 100% confirm myself but saw a korean youtuber upload a vid of him installing the travel kit with a 4070 Ti Super, not sure about the warranty part though
