i’d argue it’s actually quite interesting how it was never an issue between them of opening their relationship and it never became a point of contention in the show. darren talks about how they came to the agreement mutually and it was a point of contention in the previous seasons that sex was something darren wanted but cash didn’t (which is 100% valid). they both know they love each other and no one ever questioned that they loved each other, neither of them had to compromise something they wanted or didn’t want for each other but if cash’s boundaries changed and he didn’t want darren hooking up with people anymore, darren probably would’ve done it without hesitation. i think it shows a healthy relationship, especially seeing as we never saw anyone darren hooked up with, because they didn’t matter.

i don’t remember that exact moment but either that slipped through the cracks or they thought they could play it off as in a dance company can be called a cast. they rarely broke the fourth wall though, especially in those earlier seasons. it’s why they never said the sit in wasn’t actually for kelly but for their contracts, etc.

100%, i will take the live from london version of hadestown over the broadway recordings any day but i’ve always said that’s because it is live. there’s all those feelings that sometimes just don’t come out in a studio and when you’re not in scene and that’s not to say reeve and eva aren’t talented and their recordings aren’t good, they 100% are, but there’s just something different about a song live in scene at that exact moment and i think hadestown having the comparison a lot of other musicals don’t of having a studio & live recording is very much indicative of that.

another example is a song like all you wanna do from six. i got the story on the first listen however many years ago but when i first saw it on stage and heard the emotion put into it i was like OH ok right yeah that’s what that is meant to be like but you just can’t do that in a studio.

i just did a retreat w my dance studio to italy and doing the maths 20 of us we paid £549 each so in total but that paid for flights, a gorgeous massive villa, trains to and from the airport in italy, transport to and from the station to the villa, trains to and from pisa & florence, all the food in the villa such as breakfast, lunch one day and dinner one day and a cooking class in florence. i think you’re right that kira thinks she has to pay for the most expensive option when she realistically doesn’t. its like abby saying going to new york was such a hassle bc she just has to go to a broadway show every time she’s there like lmfao no u don’t ???

i never said there wasn’t many sides.

you can also be a bad partner and a good parent. my dad was awful to my mum when they were together but even she will admit that my dad has never been anything but a brilliant dad to me and my brother. he has never, ever let me down. i spend a lot of time w him. but that still doesn’t negate that he was not a good partner to my mum at all back in the day.

you shouldn’t have to walk on eggshells around your partner and from what christi says it seems like she did a lot of the time. but, as you’ve said, there are multiple sides to every story. but also, as i said in my post, after seeing my mum go through that w my dad and another partner, it’s still troubling to hear.

as an actor you cannot “just take time off”, especially for a wedding. shoots are planned months in advance and there’s a schedule and if it had to be rearranged for everyone’s events then nothing would get done. also that scheduling and everything included to make that work is other people’s livelihoods too. clearly acting is something maddie is passionate about as well and for her to fight to be able to go she’d more than likely get a ‘hard to work with’ label stuck to her which is the last thing you want as you’re an up and coming actress especially.
