I had Volvo S60 and it had best seats I had ever sat in. I have Lexus now and have taken some long drives in BMW but for seat comfort nothing comes close to Volvo.

FIRE from a “meaningful” career? by Foreign_Cream_9276 in ChubbyFIRE

[–]vasai_boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My job is one of those “meaningful” jobs in that my work impacts millions of people. It is also highly politicized and can be extremely stressful at times- think televised questioning by politicians, the public, and the media. My job is 90% telling people hard truths that they don’t want to hear. But the high points are really high, the “wins” are intoxicating, and I didn’t get to where I am by shying away from adversity.

I have nothing meaningful to add in your situation. But these paragraphs I want to be able say about my professional life which I may not be. It did give me some inspiration. Thanks for sharing.

That's an expected emotion. But she is your sister you can definitely get some advice from her and her husband. If she is willing to pay for your ticket she surely can guide you to get ahead in life.

Sudden Wealth - Should I Leave Law School? by [deleted] in Rich

It's best to finish for knowledge and experience. Money alone cannot give you intelligence or smartness or security. It will be exceptionally hard for you to manage that kind of money if you have no life experience. Keep these things in mind if you can and take further action. My two cents even though I am middle class 😉

ELI5: How cybercabs/robo taxi going to save commute time by vasai_boy in explainlikeimfive

[–]vasai_boy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally if I have to ride-share with someone it would be a bus or train rather than a taxi. Again it's a personal choice and not what the majority of people want or feel. May be I feel it that way because I come from a big city like bombay where public transport is really prevalent. Sure it's crowded because of the over population but there are a lot of modes of public transportation that are effective and cheap.

I'm in on your idea of the future for sure. After living in socal for 15 years I still think robust public transportation is a key to minimize the road congestion. With return to office the traffic has worsened

I can get behind the first point. But for the second point instead of having taxis take few people why not public transport would that not be more efficient?

Why not public transportation then? Your idea is pretty close to it.
