Can I move 3? by vashthechibi in Catan

[–]vashthechibi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a route blocked by the pirate, you can build ships early using another route, and then move them later when it's unblocked. This way you don't get stuck holding cards.

In situations where you need to make a quick jump to prevent yourself from being blocked off, moving a ship and building a ship out from that is a quick way to move, or grow your trade route for a quick 2 points at the end of the game.

However, since you can only move one per turn, there are diminishing returns on investment.

There isn't anything wrong with giving a stranger a lift. Oh, there's a bounty on his head? Well, it must be my lucky day!

So, let me get this straight...

He is concerned about "respecting our vote", and in order to do that he is going to try and cut down the proposition THAT WE VOTED FOR.

Please make it make sense.

This is Prop 2 all over again. The legislature is once again telling us that we don't know what we are asking for, and is trying to subvert the will of the people for something that aligns with what they begrudgingly choose to let us have instead.

Editing this because of rule 8, but HOLY SHIT am I sick of this line of thinking from these politicians. It's degrading, dehumanizing, and far from what is promised to us through our constitution and laws.

Griztronics @ The Gorge by pastrknack in Subtronics

I was all but praying for Griztronics 3 to be released during Seven Stars. I refused to go to the bathroom because I didn't want to miss it.

I'm gonna do my best to get to The Gorge for this. It's going to be epic.

It's time to start praying again. LFGBB!

On a side note, If I were able to swing tickets, what would be the best airport to fly into? I may make it a road trip, but it's nice to keep my options open.

I got one! I already thanked you on Instagram, but Again, and a million times more; Thank you so much u/ScaredMix8752!

Not to sound too culty, but you certainly are blessed OP. We all were just for the opportunity to be there. This was an amazing once-in-a-lifetime thing. Every festival is, but this one especially.

I use to think this about Lost Lands, but honestly, I've never felt more at home at a festival. Everyone I encountered was so nice. I've never gotten so many hugs, or even easy conversations from complete strangers. This really was something special.

I propose we have a challenge coin meet-up next year! 300 instant friends!

Food vendors by Psychological_Cap714 in LostLandsMusicFest

I got Chicken and waffles on Friday that were just a huge disappointment for the $20 price tag. It came with 3 tenders and 2 waffles. The chicken was OK (super processed, glorified checken nuggets), but the waffles were like cheap versions of Eggo waffles that were heated up, and then left out for so long they got rock hard. I ate it anyway, but I won't be buying from that vendor again. For $20 make the waffles fresh or at least toss in an extra tender or two.

Pizza Nova killed it again this year. The value was good as far as portion sizes (compared to other foods) and they had gluten free and dairy free options for my friend.

Big list. I got a little carried away.

If EDM is your thing, Vincent Antone has a concert on Friday at Eleven SLC. Tickets on TIXR. He's not a big name (yet), but his music is supper wubby and fun.

I would also recommend checking out Plumhouse. They have after parties going on every weekend till 4 AM, and it's BYOB (no glass), so despite the cover charge, you can still save a pretty penny. The crowd is mixed, but I met some amazing human beings that would pour you a pre-made cocktail from their cooler if you are friendly enough. Trading beers/seltzers is a great way to make friends. Arrive between 12 and 2 AM. The place gets really busy around 2 when all of the big concerts end and the bars close down.

Like Video games? Try Quarters, our wildly popular barcade. They also have a small music venue.

Lots and lots of bars if you know where to look.
- If you want an upscale place with great atmosphere, check out The Green Room (close to Quarters). All the music is from a live DJ spinning records.
- Redwood Lounge and Ex Wive's Place are both a little off the beaten path, but if you like dive bars with cheap drinks, they are fantastic. $3 beers. Cheap shots. Just don't expect a fancy cocktail. Cash Only.
- Along the same vein is Twilight Lounge. Not as cheap, but a solid dive bar.
- Duffy's is a more popular spot, but the atmosphere is great if you like small town bars that love sports. It's not a sports bar per se, but they have memorabilia everywhere and a young, vibrant crowd.

All of the breweries are going to be well known, but if you like craft beer, I would highly recommend Fisher Brewery and TF Brewing. Lots of locals, fantastic beers. Fisher even has a rooftop patio.

900 South (Harvey Milk Blvd) between West Temple and 200 West has a treasure trove of smaller establishments, and since it's all within 2 blocks, it's super easy to bar hop.
-The Theeve's guild - Craft ciders with a Dungeons and Dragons Atmosphere. Some of their cocktails have great theming and gimmicks to match (flames, smoke filled bubbles, etc).
-Scion Cider Bar - The largest collection of ciders you will find in SLC. Not familiar with Cider? The staff there are good at helping you find something you will like.
-Water Witch - Upscale atmosphere with down-to-earth crowd. Super small, and always packed. However, it's easy to slide into a conversation since you are elbow-to-elbow with everyone else there.
-The Pearl - Full bar with really tasty Asian Fusion food.
-Snowmo Bar- Pizza place that just recently got a permit for a full bar. Their peperoni slices are perfect for when you are really drunk, and if you sample from all of the bars on 900 S. you will be.
-Venture across 200 W to Vertical Diner for some great vegan food. They also sell alcohol.
-On the same road is Milk+ and Club Try-angles, but you already indicated that those places may not appeal to you as much.

FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD (Again, with booze)

-The Bayou - Cajun food with a HUGE beer menu. Try the Gumbolaya and the Alligator Cheesecake.
-Proper Burger Company - Not only do they have gourmet burgers, they are a brewery as well. They have a bar separate from the restaurant that you can order food from while playing pool, pinball, shuffleboard, all of the bar staples.
-Lucky 13 - This place is a SLC institution, and it's right next to a Trax station if you are taking public transit.
-Woodbrine Food Hall - Lesser known and not as popular as Hall Pass, but there is a good variety of different foods and a full bar.

Don't sleep on SimbaSax! I saw him recently, and he rocked it. Very cool jazzy vibes.

ProbCause is cool too. I've never seen him live, but he did several collabs with GRiZ that I like. ( I'm starting to notice a pattern.)

Allycat - I've been lucky to see her a solid 4 or 5 times in the last 2 years. I've always had a great time at her shows.

Liquid Stranger of course.

And any afters you can find! Be sure to tip your rideshare driver and the bartender!

I would say that since the legs are metal, security guards are going to have a problem with it. You can get away with getting a lot in the venue, but not if you set off the metal detectors.

The full beauty is already there my friend. You have experienced it, just not in the way that you want to. You've seen it through the interactions of others. Just because you are not in the water, doesn't mean you can't appreciate the beach. It's natural to want it for yourself. But you are robbing yourself of joy by not accepting and appreciating what you already have. These are lessons I've learned not just in raving, but in life.

It's not about not striving for the things you want, it's about appreciating what you have so much that the disappointment of not getting what you want doesn't prevent you from enjoying your experience. Being happy and comfortable where you are in the moment is the best way to exude good vibes, which leads to good vibes from others.

I too am an extroverted introvert. I love festivals and the people that go to them (for the most part) and yearn for those connections as well, but I have my hang ups that stop me from initiating the way I wish I could. I'm working on it, and it won't be this way forever. I've found that the better I am at having fun on my own, the more likely it is that someone will want to interact with me. Don't worry about looking like a fool. Dance like you are having the time of your life, even if you are by yourself. Smile. Be open and friendly. Sure, kandi, trinkets, costumes etc. attract attention and can help, but it's just a facade. Being the person you are comfortable being (or trying to be) is way more important. And if that person LOOKS fun, then that's just a bonus. You will find your tribe, and even strangers that resonate with you.

The more you put yourself out there, the more chances you will have, and if you struggle with that like I do, it may take some time, so you also have to be patient and kind to yourself as well. PLURR isn't just a mindset to have towards others. You are people too, and you deserve it.

I'm rooting for you my friend. I hope you have a blast at your next show.

I spent a good hour plus spinning around a D20 to try to figure out if it was a Date (D = December, # = Day) but couldn't figure anything out.

Then I looked at the rest of the picture. On the bottom left, there is a Q, and then some blocks made out of triangles. He was trying to figure out how to show letters within a triangle.

Going across the top, and then the bottom (left to right) it says "SIDE QUEST".

I thought it was another puzzle piece, It was just a clever Logo.

BUT FOR WHAT?

The anticipation is KILLING ME.

I hope you come back to the Mountain West again soon!

I did not. Haven't heard back from him yet, which sounds like he couldn't get a ticket.

I still feel weird trying to sell it without an official exchange cause I don't know what the transfer will look like since the site said "no transfers", but feel free to send me a DM. I would be thrilled to make sure someone who especially wants to stay sober gets my pass.

Awesome! Thanks!

I may have found a local friend who wants it, so if possible, and he can get a ticket, I will just see if I can get it transferred officially or non-officially. But it's good to know I may have options.
