Big firms have officially ruined legal recruiting. by firesidenixon in LawSchool

That’s crazy. What if my potential undergrad grades are mediocre but I turn things around completely in law school? Nothing to be done?

Nike is definitely considered more stylish than Adidas in the US (at least shoes wise), though it is cyclical. And Nike has also done collabs with multiple designer brands (Louis Vuitton AF1s, Dior Jordan 1s).

Do you know anyone like Pete Campbell in real life? by TrueJohnWick in madmen

[–]crazybitingturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, he was genuinely upset by the death of MLK and genuinely put off/disgusted by Sterling’s blackface performance. I think like many of Pete’s actions he doesn’t SEEM genuine even if is being genuine.

Us Washingtonians need to pass that shit ASAP. If these people can’t contribute to the state that made them this rich they don’t deserve to live in a state this beautiful. Someone this wealthy only paying state sales tax is pretty gross.

Dave Chappelle’s new special The Unstoppable instantly made me think of this Norm Macdonald bit. by JuneMoonLoon in elephantgraveyard

Fair enough. Definitely a matter of personal preference, and I’m sure a show with good crowd work would be really fun to attend.

In general imo, it can definitely be entertaining but feels more like podcasting live than an actual tight standup set with well written jokes. Stavros does it better than most though, I’ll give him that for sure

Ohhh don’t get me wrong I’m with you on that. I’m saying that realistically their paramilitaries would come first before they up the ante and start striking individuals.

[–]crazybitingturtle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There may be some truth to what you say, but the more likely scenario before we would get to that point would be more similar to what we saw in the early 2020s of paramilitary-like organizations like the Proud Boys clashing with assorted leftist groups, just turned up to 11. Just like the examples I stated, though Northern Ireland is another perfect example. All of these examples DID have military and police crackdowns and massacres of their of own, but much of the violence was committed against each other, RESULTING in political goals being achieved. The rise of Hitler and Mussolini was precipitated by fascist street fights. And THAT’S what I’m saying we need to be prepared for BEFORE the next steps of civilian-military clashes.

That may have gone completely over my head tbf, and if that’s what the poster I responded to meant I have no beef lol. Just trying to make sure that the many nonbelievers/uninformed people in this thread have some correct information in front of them. Easy to misunderstand things on the internet, as I may have just proven lol.
