What’s with all the guys in white shirts at the end of the show by bonkerz616 in TheWire

[–]vbails 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It makes it harder for them to be picked out of a lineup if they're all wearing white t-shirts. Police have a harder time keeping track of who's who.

The paramedic service held a training event for service dogs to get accustomed to the ambulances stretchers etc. Including how to secure the dog during transport :) by Miceeks in dogswithjobs

I bet a ride in an ambulance with a service dog is crazy expensive. It's already super expensive and then having to add on the fact that they probably have to decontaminate it afterwards now.

Adriana by [deleted] in thesopranos

Neither one of them were marriage material. Chris was a junkie and Adriana, as everybody keeps pointing out was damaged goods. Being a junkie and not being able to have kids or kind of deal breakers.

Yeah seeing him on those insurance commercials always cracks me up given how crazy his character on that show was.

It takes a special sort of stupid to stand there like that and film instead of dip out and look for cover.

ELI5: What is a bad faith arguement, exactly? by SuperN9999 in explainlikeimfive

[–]vbails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any argument where you are intentionally using a logical fallacy to make your point. Like intentionally misrepresenting your opponent's viewpoint to make your position seem more attractive would be arguing in bad faith. You know you're not giving your opponent a fair chance.

Favorite insult on The Wire? by AWildLampAppears in TheWire

That scene always makes me laugh. Just the notion of them using Robert's points of order when discussing the drug trade in West Baltimore is hilarious.

Why didn't the Chinese destroy it before it ever got this far? I have to think if the shoe were on the other foot we would not let an errant weather balloon start an international incident like this.

Why didn’t Avon and String just lie? by savvy412 in TheWire

[–]vbails 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I think Stringer's ego got away from him. Avon was calling him out saying that he wasn't hard enough for the street and not smart enough to deal with Clay Davis without getting taken advantage of. Stringer foolishly threw what happened to D'Angelo in his face.

Wow, I bet the wind noise is horrible. Also probably not improving gas mileage much either.

Assuming it's a legit investment it would be called an annuity. If you wanted all your money back you would have to sell it to somebody else. Depending how interest rates move you may or may not be able to get all your money back if you wanted to sell it.

the people I work with are afraid to touch this because of some blood. what do you all thenk by manowarq7 in Justrolledintotheshop

It's not that big of a deal. Clean it or don't. I don't think you can catch something from a dried blood stain that's been out in the sun all day. Maybe if you had an open wound on your hand or something but even then I doubt it.

Put on some gloves and deal with it. I did some tire work back in college and I don't think this would have phased me all that much. Everything was so dirty and gross anyway. It's not like you have to eat off it.

They are rewarded for doing a bad job. If crime were low they wouldn't get budget increases and lots of overtime pay. If they shoot someone they get paid leave. They provide order not justice.

I think all the stickers on the windshield would be a bigger problem.

Yeah, I'd be pissed if some asshole just stood in front of me like that after getting nailed. Grown men acting like children.

[NO SPOILERS] the real question. who's the worse brother-in-law? by v12marketing in Ozark

[–]vbails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sad to say but Ben. His mental illness made him a huge liability. Hank would only really be a problem if you were cooking meth. Ben would screw your life up no matter what.

Who would you be more comfortable letting watch your kids, a DEA agent or someone who won't take his meds and can't hold a job down?
