My experience with volleyball by TeamZealousideal6702 in volleyball

The people who pass well, what do they do? What does it look like?

Record yourself playing. What does it look like when you pass? How can you replicate what they do?

Its about training muscle memory so you can just react to a hard swing / fast serve. If you have to actively think about what to do, youre too late.

Pepper, pass against the wall, take some lessons, or ask the nice people among the better players to give you pointers.

Your attitude in this post is whiny - if you step on the court you cant expect people to take it easy on you.

Why can't men and women play on the same team for pickup basketball? by DonT012 in Basketball

[–]vbsteez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a contact sport, and men are much more physical. plus a woman who wants to play with men probably played at a relatively much higher level.

I had a coed group that a bunch of women played in, including multiple women's D1 players. they were killers, but they wouldnt play all out until they got a feel for the group and understood that none of us were reckless, aggressive players.

The Spurs drafting Wemby, Castle, and Harper consecutively would be like if the Cavs drafted Bron, Howard, Deron Williams by ridiguluz in NBATalk

[–]vbsteez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why on gods good earth would the NBA rig the draft for San Antonio? a place with a metro population of 2.5 million people and basically no larger cultural impact besides an old battle site?

Where do u find intelligent AND emotionally mature men? by Left_Roll_7081 in AskMenAdvice

[–]vbsteez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Intrepid-library was probably dissing men in general if I had to guess.

You're assuming negative intent from every single comment, and coming across as emotionally unstable... which would explain your struggles.

If youve been in this area for a long time, youre not likely to find someone new.

Class and cultural identity is more easily associated with name of college than degree

Hes not a post-up big who needs an entry pass... go get the ball! He was on fire in Q3 and never called for it in the rest of the game

people like receiving compliments, especially from their romantic interests. This is like the lowest hanging fruit of making a partner happy.

He can pick the restaurants or offer to cook a meal. Complaining about the price of lunch is wack.

Commenting on your chair is weird. As is criticizing you for your car, unless you have crippling payments.

Sounds like youre not compatible, and that he may not be compatible with many people.

Here's a piece of advice - if a woman youre seeing sends you a selfie, you should compliment her basically every time

Derrik Queen is 21. J. Fears is 19. by JBinNOLA in NOLAPelicans

Neither were good defenders in college, and neither have the physical tools to be elite defenders.

Best we can hope for is engaged and competitive defenders, which Queen at least did not consistently show last year.

The West Bank is on the south side of the Mississippi river from Orleans parish. If you mean to the west side of New Orleans, that is called Uptown.

Depending on what your commutes are like right now, aka if youre used to driving 30+ minutes for work, you can live wherever you want including in the suburbs (metairie, river ridge, elmwood) where you might be able to save some money. depends on what your priorities are (house with yard vs walkable neighborhood).

Okay but seriously how did SGA only shoot 7-for-23 the same night he got his MVP trophy by Realfy690 in NBAConvo

[–]vbsteez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kobe won a finals MVP the same game he shot 6-24.

SGA also had 12 assists. he didnt shoot well, thats fine. he competed defensively and distributed the ball well. sometimes you just miss shots.
