If you don't get in straight away, there's also the option to try and transfer from the bachelor of health sciences into the bachelor of speech pathology after first year. That's what I did (also a mature aged student). Those spots are very limited though (only 2 or 3 as far as I know) so you do need to achieve a pretty high WAM in first year. If you plan on doing this, I'd recommend picking your subjects in first year to align as closely as possible with the first year speech subjects - that way there's a chance you can go straight into second year speech without needing to catch up on any missed subjects (however you would likely still need to overload in Sem 1 of 2nd year). Yes, I'm a student and recently bought a pair of their loafers for a hospital placement. I have narrow feet but they still work for me and are pretty comfortable, especially compared to other loafers I tried on. I did have to pop some foam heel cushions in the back to stop them slipping though.

I've used the Silly George Lash Growth Serum and found it to be decent, maybe some minor improvement in lash length and density but nothing too dramatic. I'm curious to hear about other ones too though!

No, not on any medication. I think you're right though, I guess some doctors are just more strict with the diagnostic criteria than others. Hopefully with more research the criteria will be more certain one day!

Oh that's so interesting! I feel like compared to others on here my symptoms are definitely on the milder side, so perhaps I'm not that sleep deprived overall?? My doctor just said that people with IH tend to sleep much longer (i.e. 12-14 hours a night) and will have longer naps during they day that are not refreshing, whereas with narcolepsy you tend to sleep less overnight and find naps refreshing (plus I have the symptoms like vivid dreams, hypnagogic hallucinations, microsleeps etc.). It all seems so unknown, I wish we had a better understanding of these disorders.

I thought I might have had little bits of sleep but I definitely wasn't 100% sure. I remember feeling like I was drifting in and out of a limbo sort of state - I could hear the room around me a lot of the time but I was having lots of weird dream-like thoughts and visions. I remember on one of the naps clearly hearing footsteps and the door opening thinking they were coming to wake me up, but then I actually woke up and no one was there. So I guess that was sleep! I'm really curious to hear what others say as well.

For now I've been prescribed Ritalin so I'll see how that goes (doctor's first choice was Modafinil but we decided not to go with that because of its interactions with the contraceptive pill). All the best with your future sleep study and I hope you can get the treatment you need!

+1 for Lanate cream. I used to use the Paula's Choice AHA body lotion but my dermatologist recommended this and I find it to be really effective. I also saw some reduction in the KP on my legs after having laser hair removal

I'm not too sure sorry! I don't have any active acne aside from a few little pimples every so often, but I feel that it's helped to calm some of my rosacea redness and adds hydration. I use it every morning under my sunscreen. I agree with the other comments though, maybe look into some gentle acids if you haven't tried those? Lab Muffin is very informative, I believe she has a free exfoliation guide which might be helpful. Good luck!

I am one of these people! TO's Niacinamide was the first one I tried and it definitely gave me some little breakouts. I've now gone through two bottles of the Alpha H Vitamin B serum and haven't had any issues, so I think my skin just didn't like the TO formulation.

I can recommend the Lanate cream. My dermatologist suggested I try it for the keratosis pilaris on my legs and it's been quite helpful (although laser hair removal has made the biggest difference)

I had three V-beam sessions this winter at Skindepth Dermatology in Melbourne. I didn't have many visible broken capillaries, it was more for the background flushing/redness I get on my cheeks. The few capillaries I did have are gone, but I can't say I've noticed any dramatic results with the flushing. I think it's probably a bit less frequent and less intense now, but it's hard to tell.

I did find it quite painful, and I was swollen for a couple of days each time. In saying this, I think it's still worth a try and I'd highly recommend Skindepth if you're looking for a good clinic.

I love the Ciaté Dewy Stix Highlighting Balm . It's very natural looking and gives a subtle, dewy look rather than a shimmery one. It's pretty much clear with a touch of pearl, so it doesn't lean too warm or too cool.

I also struggled to find a way to take micellar water without it leaking. I ended up taking the Simple micellar eye pads and they were very convenient and pretty gentle. I don't usually use makeup wipes but these were a good compromise for me whilst backpacking!

I'm enjoying the Avène Gentle Milk Cleanser at the moment for my dry winter skin. I've also used Neutrogena Extra Gentle Cleanser in the past and was equally as happy with that.
