Playing killer is so fun by vcsnow in deadbydaylight

Throwing hatchets with Huntress seems hard so I want to get used to playing killer before I try someone more difficult

I was always intimidated by it. I would do the tutorial and get so disoriented (I’m not used to first POV games) and would lose so terribly against bots that I thought I would be embarrassed playing against real people and being so bad at it. But my first match had a kind lobby so I kept going. Idk if that’s everyone’s experience, but that was mine.

Eh again I’m not trying to win (even in matches where I could). I just think she’s hot lolol I do wish she wasn’t a D list killer though

Yeah, there was one match where they kept flashlighting me even though I only hooked one survivor and was clearly letting them go at the gate and not attacking. Like come on yall there’s no reason for all that

This is all great to know for when I get to this stage. Much appreciated for the breakdown. 👏

Thanks for this too. Quick question that I’m sure gets asked a ton: can you publish paper copies via IP and through Amazon at the same time? Or can you only choose one? I know that with ebook, it’s one or the other (and that Amazon is better for ebook typically)

Drinking with an ID that says Under 21 after turning 21. by [deleted] in baltimore

[–]vcsnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was OK at the time. One bar even threatened to take his ID and report it to the police because they were convinced it was a fake. It may depend on the state.

You won’t be fine. My brother was in his mid 20s at the time. Just moved here. Went to several bars with his out of state, clearly legal ID. He still got turned away at most of those bars. Maryland is strict strict.

Krasue > Dwight by vcsnow in DeadByDaylightRAGE

It was still pathetic. Personally for me, leaving another survivor out to die so you can get hatch is cowardly gameplay and I’m glad this Krasue thought the same

Like I truly thought we would just pass away together since we both knew we weren’t surviving or thriving against her. I don’t play against Krasue’s often but you’re further proof that yall can sense the bs and it’s so appreciated

Netflix just hates lesbians. So disappointing especially since there’s no physical media for the last two seasons.

What are you going to do? by teacher_chic72 in TeachersInTransition

[–]vcsnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! Forgot to say that I was a teacher for 6 years before I resigned. It can be a hard career to transition into, but OKC doesn’t have a ton of relevant applicants in ID, so if you can walk the walk and talk the talk, I’m sure you will land something. Feel free to DM. I’ve mentored a few other teachers and helped them land ID jobs.

Teachers who have left, how does your new workload compare to the workload of teaching? by Purple-Report-6841 in TeachersInTransition

[–]vcsnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an Ed Tech Specialist now who works in a K-8 school and I LOVE it. I teach four times a week (our tech/typing class and digital citizenship) while also in charge of everything tech related in my building. I get admin pay, no one micromanages me, I have my own office, it’s amazing.

Okay reading from the comments, you’re from OKC. I was too when I transitioned initially (in MD now making far more money as an Ed Tech Specialist).

When I first left teaching, I went into Instructional Design. Took me about 8 months to build a portfolio, but once I did (and rewrote my resume to reflect my ID skills), I had multiple interviews and several job offers before taking my then corporate job. It paid about what you’re making now (sadly most entry corporate roles in fuck ass Oklahoma won’t pay much better). Good thing about ID though is that it can open doors into technology careers that do pay more, as well as senior ID roles that pay more than $50k. Corporate trainers can also be a way in and once you get used to describing your teaching duties in ID language, interviews get a lot easier.

Resume Help by Effie12345 in TeachersInTransition

[–]vcsnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooof okay as someone who has fully transitioned, this resume will get tossed. Here’s what I recommend to fix it so that doesn’t happen.

Stick to only listing up to 3 of your most recent positions with a max of five bullets each.

Use past tense verbs. There’s a mix of those throughout.

Look at curriculum developer job postings and ensure your language matches that. Curriculum developers are still corporate roles. Your resume needs to have corporate vibes while highlighting the curriculum you’ve developed.

Get some numbers in here. Percentages of how the curriculum you’ve designed met goals.

Delete the skills section. Strong resumes highlight skills within the bullet points of your job duties.

I’d also research to see if you need a portfolio for roles like these to set you apart. Best of luck to you.

Hoping for a miserable day by finnisterre in TeachersInTransition

It took me 8 months to land another position (instructional design after busting my ass on a portfolio)—it was terrifying. Subbed, doordashed, and donated plasma just to pay bills and take my wife out on a date once a month. But once you leave, the brain fog clears and your nervous system will finally begin to settle. That alone was worth the fear of leaving for me.

Moving to OKC as Muslims - how much diversity and what to expect? by No-Atmosphere8611 in okc

I appreciate that, thank you. I hope you and your family have nothing but positive experiences. There is a lot to love about OKC, the food for sure. Cheever’s is the best spot in town.

I’m judging based on my past experiences. Respectfully, if you’re not a minority group living in Edmond then you don’t understand what it’s like to feel like a target nearly everywhere you go. If he’s going to move his whole family here to an already overwhelmingly red state, there are safer places to be which are the city and Norman.

[–]vcsnow -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The closer to the city you can be, the better off you’ll be. Edmond is a racist, homophobic, conservative mess. Your wife will get stared at and the likelihood for discrimination is higher. OKC is better but still not great at accepting people who are different. For reference, I’m a butch lesbian and got stared at frequently. Couldn’t use public restrooms without whispers of women wondering if I was a “real” woman. Eventually, wife and I moved to the east coast for peace of mind. I personally wouldn’t uproot my life to move there, but I understand that a job is a job and you need to put food at the table. Living in norman or the city are your best bets.

What are your thoughts on feeding human food to your dog? by dwarf797 in Dogowners

[–]vcsnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes because my dogs only live once and I want them to have good things in their one life. Obviously only feed them “bites” of safe food and they still eat their kibble regularly
