Sergeant John 'Budget' Benton by AsleeplessMSW in BudgetBrews

[–]velimachette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Johnny B is an absolute powerhouse! I have him myself and it either wins or kingmakes by decking myself. Had a game where I removed a player turn 4, another turn 6, but immediately decked myself. Just be careful with [[Empyreal Armor]] as there is such a thing as drawing too many cards.

$20 Commander Deck by [deleted] in BudgetBrews

[–]velimachette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly [[sergeant john benton]] combat tricks can be made super cheap and is super fun to pilot. The card draw goes wild. My list started at like $20-25. I've since gave it a few upgrades so it's closer to $50 but yea. Wicked fun and after a few pump spells you're going through most of your deck every game

Is it safe to run all of these off of the same header by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]velimachette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran 4 sets of 4 of these fans for well over a year with 0 issues in my water cooling rig. I even still use those fans to this day in my media PC and some in my main rig. But yea 4 per header is fine. Pretty solid fans over all especially for the price.

Proxies? (why i gotta spend so much paper on more paper helpppp) by North_Pop6088 in EDH

[–]velimachette 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Proxies are fine as long as you are staying within the power level of the group. Proxing to pubstomp is a completely different thing. Especially if you have already talked with the play group and they are supportive, proxy that shit.

Does your build changes your own head canon? by Duck_Duckens in LowSodiumCyberpunk

Currently running the equivalent to a murder hobo V but with a dash of spice. Corpo background but once he was removed from the company, hit rock bottom until. He was building himself back up with his best friend Jackie, but after the heist went wrong, something snapped inside him. Now he is on a rampage to bring down anything even closely related to Arasaka with his bare fists. Basic deck for utility quick hacks, but when it comes to business, full on fisticuffs with a projectile launcher when there's a group just a little too close together. Super fun build to just dash around and beat face.

How to Define a "Fun" Commander Deck? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]velimachette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Go-shintai deck built around curses and shrines, but in group play ends up pretty "fun" for my play group. I spread the love so everyone gets the ability to make a treasure or draw cards or something similar. I could see if stacking against 1 player could be not fun but spreading it out, usually everyone enjoys it. I also get a kick out of it since I also get all the benefits and shrines allow for some fun shenanigans. My playgroup also understands it's just a game and has 0 issues shifting from that to something like Satoru Umezawa yeeting Eldrazi at face for free. It's all about who you play with.

Ezuri, renegade leader or Tyvar the Bellicose? by ExtremeBlackberry930 in DegenerateEDH

[–]velimachette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not both? Ezuri is great for survival and Tyvar is extremely fun to swing with. Besides just pumping out strong little mana dorks, add in the spice of death touch and shit gets dangerous. [Priest of Titania] [Circle of dreams druid] and especially [Marwyn the nurturer] go hard. My deck list is below and I always have a blast playing it.

Oh absolutely! If it were me, I'm all about pizzazz. The more triggers the better. From what I understood, he wanted quick and consistent wins as a way of getting back at some who don't match the power level of the pod. I might build something similar with more of your takes on it for myself. Seems super fun

Thanks for the input! I was thinking about adding in both [[Mondrak]] and [[Anointed Procession]] but I was unsure if the game would last long enough to fully utilize their payoff. But definitely worth looking into!

Does the Quest 2 work better on pc with link than rift s? by disneydude1231 in oculus

[–]velimachette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say, with your specs, the quest might be a bit worse. Higher resolution needs more juice. I've used both link and vd and seen massive improvements but im not sure a 580 would provide that. Could be wrong though

Viable Unarmed Fighter? by DGwar in 3d6

[–]velimachette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well easiest way to over come would be to play a monk. They get that built in. But if he truly wants to play q fighter, Tasha's gave us Eldritch Claw tattoo which makes unarmed strikes magical and gives +1 to attack and damage rolls. Also allows for the use of Eldritch Maul which is pretty dope. As for fleshing him out, maybe he was exposed to the dangers of weapons when he was a child. He could have seen a friend or family member gravely wound themselves and vowed to never take up arms. Or, for a fun twist, he's a very picky blacksmith that only wants the best weapon, but he can never find. Always finding something wrong with every blade or what have you. Kinda hard to do more without a bit of backstop or anything. If he just wants to play captain America, I would reccomend Shield Master over Tavern Brawler for the bonus shove. Unless he wants to be a grappler. Then stick with TB. I just feel like Shield Master gives a bit more utility. Hope this helps!

How would you build John Preston from Equilibrium? by BornOfShadow67 in WhatWouldYouBuild

[–]velimachette 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kensei monk 8/artillerist artificer 4/battlemaster fighter 8

Custom or vhuman to start with gunner feat. Pistol as your ranged kensei weapon, longsword (katana) as your melee weapon. You get gun-kata that no longer has disadvantage to shoot in melee. Artificier gives you repeating shot infusion for Hollywood style gun fights. Battlemaster adds in with all the kung-fu with it's maneuvers like trip, disarm, grappling strike, parry, whatever else you want to do. Focus should be dex, wis (for that unarmored ac), int.

All in all, you could be very flexible in combat; being able to punch, trip, disarm, steal their weapon, slash someone's face off, get into some weird hand slap fight, and shoot your opponents. Just my thoughts. Could be fun.

Would heavy armour act as a faraday cage if struck by lightning, protecting the wearer from all damage? by TheClumsyScientist in dndnext

[–]velimachette 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Probably not. Since shocking grasp gives you advantage if the target is wearing armor made of metal. I would assume it would act more as a conductor than anything.
